When the printer actually prints, it works flawlessly. The problem I have is that it constantly comes off line. As in ALL THE TIME. This printer is never ready to print for me. It is the only wireless device in my household (and I count no fewer than six such devices) that I have problems with. The controls are nonsensical and it might be the least-intuitive electronic device I have ever worked with.
Pros: High Quality Output, fast print speed
Cons: Difficult to use, Difficult Setup, unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hard to use and disappointed

The printing quality is excellent. The ease of use is terrible. You have to be at the printer to perform most functions instead of being able to perform from the computer. The fax machine has to scan one page at a time. You cannot just put the sheets in an automatic document feeder. I have figured out how to fax and have used it but I have to be at the printer for multiple pages. For scanning, you have to be at the machine in order to scan to the computer. Copying always does 2 sided and it is not easy to do a single page when desired. After a month I have not been able to receive a fax automatically even though my phone line is dedicated to the computer.
Pros: fast print speed
Cons: Difficult to use, can't perform activities automatically from comput

MF Drivers Will not install

The printer seems very well made, however I cannot install the drivers for it. The installer tells me I lack administrator privilege but this is not correct. Have searched support and it appears there is no help area to ask for help. I will be returning this product.
Cons: Difficult Setup

I have spent almost five hours trying to get this printer running again but failed.
The first time installation was good. Then we moved to another place and lost the CD. We can't download everything from the website, and couldn't get it connected to PC again.

Okay Purchase So Far

4-in-1 desktop laser unit top rated in 2015 CR Buying Guide.....New printer in sealed box came without any literature, software, or warranty paperwork. That said waiting on Big Box chain supplier to either replace this obviously used printer or supply needed info.
That said...downloaded drivers from Canon website, unzipped, and launched drivers. Hint 1: Canon could be more user friendly and clearly label the file that is the executable rather than the user having to guess. Hint 2: for computer to recognize the printer after powering up printer, needed to unplug the USB cable and then reconnect the USB cable again.

Noisy Printer

This printer is extremely noisy when printing. Wish there was a way to make it quieter. I like the features of the multifunction machine its just way to noisy for my office.
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, High Quality Output, easy to use
Cons: noisy

This machine has been very reliable and the tech support team is phenomenal! Very patient and will walk you through one step at a time. Also can clearly understand every word they say! Thanks for the great job! This is the second Canon printer we have purchased and have recommend Canon to many friends.
