Fridge Review

Bought on 8/26. Delivered and installed on 8/27. Started leaking water on the floor on 9/10. Warranty repair schedule for the following Friday. Had to stay home all day as the repair company would not give a time frame until the morning of. Repairman made a simple repair and left without any testing. Two hours later when ice maker cycled it was leaking water again. Called repair guy and next availability was the next Tuesday. Repair guy came back and brought a replacement valve on the 2nd trip. It seems to be fixed now. But for a fridge that was less than a month old to start leaking water and then the time it took to get a repair scheduled and then to have to be home twice for the same issue. I lost one and one half days of work due to this. We will see if the fridge holds up for long term. Also this fridge is noisier than our last one.

On the whole it is a fine fridge. However, the sides don't allow much room to store things. Had to take out a shelf for the taller storage. Love the freezer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is so much room in this refrigerator and the ice maker in the door does not take away space from the inside. Having a dual icemaker you always have ice on hand. The two drawers between the top and the freezer we use for canned or bottled drinks or fruits, veggies or to defrost meats. There are settings in one drawer for the above mentioned. I can't say enough about this refrigerator's design!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have had it six weeks. I am dissatisfied with the water in the door. Water drips for over 5 minutes before you remove the glass. A few seconds would be fine but not minutes.

Amazing fridge

Me and my wife recently purchased our first home. We spent alot of time looking for a fridge that would fit the look and ergonomics we wanted. The 2 smaller drawers are great for the kids to use as their own snack and drink areas. Also the ability to easily remove bins for cleaning and adjustability is great as well. I also like how filters were designed into it and not take up space and are easily accessible.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The fridge has been in operation for12 days (two days were allowed for cooling before loading with cold food). Adjusting to the organization from the two door side by side has been interesting. We are working on this. Change isn't always easy. The features are inviting. So far our perceptions (choice) of shelf and drawer locations are being met. OPERATIONS: This a big problem for us. We like the refrigerator (upper) portion to be 35 to 36 degrees. The default is 37 degrees. At the end of the third day the upper refrigerator temperature was noted to be 41. We then lowered the default setting to 34. We started recording the temperature from three different thermometers, two external with internal probes and one internal. The average temperature for 10 days is 38.5 (the refrigerator is about 2/3 full and opened seldom (no children to make unknown visits). The readings were taken before the doors are opened in the AM and just as we are retiring. (We think this is totally unsatisfactory for the refrigerator of this class and price as we see it. What do you think?) The default temperature for the freezer is 0. Following the same procedure for the freezer as the upper portion we are seeing an average rate temperature of 1. We are thinking about lowering the default setting to -1 or -2 degrees. General comment for the upper ares; recovery after opening the door(s) only briefly is slow, unsatisfactory. Humidity in our home is maintained at 41%. Day time temperature is 71 with nights at 69. On the positive side the ice makers (yes 2 of them) are working; not as fast as we would expect but certainly produces a lot more ice than we two people use on a daily basis. The access to water is good. Not being high tech people, we find the operation of the control panel to be confusing. The stainless steel is not finger print proof but better than some of our friends report they are experiencing. Now for the big test - will it last at least as long as our previous GE being over 18 years with only a minor problem in the ice holding tray? Is this evaluation fair? We hope so. We do not recommend this refrigerator at this time. One more issue - seems the operating manual could be printed on better paper than slightly better paper than a newspaper?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
