Good, but needs a little tweking

I bought this unit based on Whirlpools reputation and my past satisfaction. It is a good refrigerator, but a couple of things need improving: the dispenser takes a good deal of pressure to activate and, therefore, the ice keeps coming after the glass is removed. The door doesn't close automatically at the 3/4 close position--it has to be manually closed. The trim plate at the bottom is ugly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This whirlpool replaced my 14 year old whirlpool side by side which is still with us as a spare. The previous refrig started to rust. This new refrig has the on the door ice feature which allows more freezer room. Good feature. The energy saving lights are not great. Blue tint is attractive at first but too dim. The refrig door staying open on its hing is a problem. It is heavy and wants to swing open on its wn. Crash! You have to be careful. Lots of nice space. Attractive design with a curved door front. Smooth handle, this is a white refrig., is better then the previous handle that had a rough plastic finish and eventually turned yellowish and looked dirty. I do not care for the water/ice maker set up. We will see about longevity.

Good refrigerator, but we had issues with ice maker

We bought this 1 year ago and it's a great refrigerator/freezer. HOWEVER, we have had numerous issues with the ice maker that still are not resolved after 4 months and 6+ repair visits.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Overall Happy With the Purchase

The refrigerator has plenty of storage! The shelf spacing allows for large platters to gallon milk containers without having to rearrange the entire refrigerator. A definite plus!The only drawbacks are the halogen light doesn't give off enough light to make the interior easy to see if the kitchen light is off, and also you must leave the glass under the ice maker for a second after you stop pressing...there always seems to be 2-3 cubes that fall out.
