The only problem we have had with the refrigerator is that there is no place in the info to tell you with what you can clean the refrigerator. I mean, such as smudges from food or other kinds of materials that might leave something on the refrigerator surface Only says don't use abrasives. Didn't say about the type of cloth to use; but found out too late that you're not to use even paper towels. May be with the next instruction book , there should be the type of cleanser that can be used. Also said not to use window cleaners with contents, such as ammonia. Maybe the outside surface of the refrigerator needs to be more resilient as far as being cleaned.

Purchased our new Whirlpool refrigerator, and couldn't be any happier! I read a lot of reviews on the one I purchased. and I would have to say, the people that complained about the ice-maker not keeping up is not true. I have a family of three, one being a teenager, and we have never run out of ice or even close, We have purchased a lot of appliances over the years, and I have always had the best luck with Whirpool. We actually just replaced our Gas Range & OTR Microwave last Wednesday, and went straight for the whirlpool line, and very happy with them so far as well. I would highly recommend their appliances to anyone.

Great unit, except for ice maker

We have owned this unit for a few months and are very happy with most of the refrigerator, including exterior, controls and shelving. The only bad comments are regarding the icemaker, which is entirely inadequate in terms of speed of making ice and ice capacity. We have to buy ice from the store and keep in the refrigerator, which takes up space we thought we could save with the in-door icemaker that this unit has. One other comment: there is no drain bin under the water dispenser and I have to be very careful not to spill water when filling my glass. Most units, I believe have a grated bin to catch overspill.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

More features than I wanted.

I bought this unit to replace the old, 2nd refrigerator that I have in my garage. It's the same model that I recently bought for my house, which shows that I really liked it. It has a very well laid out interior arrangement, and it seems to just swallow up all the stuff that I put into it.Being for the garage, I would have been happier with fewer features; the ice maker is not "hook-upable" in my garage.The only complaint that I have, and it applies to both units that I own, is that the temperature control unit doesn't give you the temperature that is set. You have put a thermometer in the refrigerator and enter arbitrary temperatures until it holds at the desired value .

Poor Ice/Water dispenser

We bought all Whirlpool appliances when we remodeled our kitchen. Unfortunately, you cannot test products at the store. The refrigerator looked nice and matched everything else we bought. But if I could return it I would. The ice/water dispenser is terrible. The ice goes everywhere and is very, very loud when it makes ice. I would think whirlpool engineers would be better at designing their products. The Kenmore refrigerator we replaced was quieter and had a much better ice/water dispenser. I suggest you examine the Ice/water dispenser before purchasing this model. In our household it is the most used item. I will not make this mistake again.

works, but rusting stainless steel is continuing problem

This fridge replaced one that, after 10 months, showed growing, significant rust on the exterior stainless steel.Now, there is rust starting already on the freezer door. This is really poor. I know Whirlpool doesn't cover cosmetic faults, but this is the SECOND fridge to rust out. First one took 2 months, this one a few months longer, but it is rusting. Bad stainless steel composition.The fridge cools as it should. Side by side style is easiest to get into and use. While noisy, the icemaker works well, doesn't jam and makes plenty of ice (the fast ice feature is helpful on hot summer days).We will look for other brands next time.

Don't buy this!

I'm sorry, but I just absolutely hate this refrigerator. The compressor is very loud. The ice maker water pump is loud. The doors must be opened a full 180-degrees, else they will try to close on you (very annoying)! The ice box in the door is continuously frosted over. The first few ounces of water dispensed is always warm, and has a food-like taste to it (nasty)! The ice dispenser always makes an absolute mess everywhere, and that's when dispensing cubes. Don't even attempt to dispense crushed ice without a mop handy. I really really really wanted to love this thing when I bought it, but unfortunately it's just awful.
