Great looking fridge, but surprisingly loud...

My husband and I went to three different stores in our town and also did internet research prior to making our final choice when we purchased our new refrigerator one month ago. I have to admit that I was enamored with the idea of having the ice maker on the freezer door (as opposed to taking up the top 1/4 of the freezer). The in-door ice maker, the glass freezer and refrigerator shelves, the air filter, digital touch controls, the LED lighting inside, and the lovely stainless finish is what sold us on this model. I wish we would have looked up NOISE LEVEL information on this model prior to our purchase, though. The in-door ice maker is so loud...if your kitchen is open to your main living area - this is probably not the fridge for you! It's loud when the ice cubes PLUNK into the bin. It's loud when the water turns on to fill up the tray. And this happens all night long (if you intend to actually use your ice maker). Also, the motor on this model is louder than I would have expected. I mean, our refrigerator is one month old and every time it runs - I can hear it in the living room. The exterior finish is really pretty, but this does NOT have the non-smudging finish...which means lots of wiping...lots (and we don't have children - just two dogs!). For the past week I have been debating whether or not to return it...since you have 30 days from the date of purchase. But, it is literally more trouble than it's worth to have a new one delivered - so we decided to keep this model. Looks nice - but it's loud. Just know that before making your final choice! (Oh - and it's pretty deep...measure how deep you need your fridge! We didn't measure the depth [from wall to front of counter] and this model sticks out quite far.)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great fridge for the price

We like our fridge. The ice maker in the door gives us extra space in our freezer. The only con is the fridge side bottom door area does not get as cold as we would like.

Beautiful and roomy

Although this product is beautiful and roomy, there are design flaws. Number 1: It is extremely hard to move with only 3 wheels and I cannot clean out pet hair that gets underneath without taking off a skirt piece in the front. Number 2: From the start I had to have a repairman come to fix the icemaker switch. Number 3: The touchscreen makes me hit it twice to get ice or water.

The fridge is not as spacious as the freezer. It does not flow. Shelves are too close together or too far apart. Feels like a shelve on door is missing.

Great Visibility

I love how I can see into the drawers when I open the fridgerator door. Everything is veiwable without opening the draws. The freezer has plenty of room and very accessible.The only disappointment is the size of the ice cubes are rather small although I am getting used to it and they fit into all size drinking containers.

For a freebie, this has worked stupendously. This was a free upgrade for our new home. I've read complaints about the ice maker but it's like any other appliance, take care of it and it will treat you family well. No issues, no complaints and great tasting ice/water despite the city water where we live.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am happy all around with the new fridge.The wife wishes she could set the refrigerator temp to 32 or 31 def F,but it will only set down to 33.The freezer will set to -5 which is good for her.It does make an occasional ticking sound which i guess is normal.

Just a fantastic refrigerator

We bought this to replace another side by side that was about 13 years old. What a difference. The one we replaced was a 24 cu ft. It's hard to believe how much difference just 3 cu ft can make. I love the way that the in-door ice maker frees up extra shelf space in the freezer. The ice bucket is a little smaller though, so we have to use the fast-ice feature on weekends to keep up with our family. The Tap Touch controls do a good job of keeping the temperatures steady and they're very easy to use. We did have to turn the temperatures higher than we expected in order to keep from freezing the foods in the freezer, but once we figured out what temperature works best, all has been good.
I would recommend this to a friend!
