Quick and Easy

This is the second year I've used Turbo Tax and I can't think of any reason why I'd do my taxes any other way. They make it very easy to know what information needs to be added to any form, I love that they do error checking on your forms and I like that they let you know about what deductibles exist out there.
In my opinion, best way to go about filing taxes.
What's great about it: Very user friendly, gives you as much information as you need to understand what you're doing.
What's not so great: None

Fast and Easy

This is my 3rd year using TurboTax, and it couldn't be any easier. The guided sections is very intuitive that it does not slow me down. When I have a question, there is plenty of answers and guides to help along the way. I was basically done in 45 minutes! Thank you, TurboTax.
What's great about it: just enough assistance to quickly prepare our tax

Refund

I did my returns and sent on two diffrent days. I didnot want to update when I went to send. I was using my Mom's computer and I don't like updating with out her permission. It would have been much simpler to just let me send and let her update when she did her returns.
What's great about it: Quick easy and imports all your vitals from last year
What's not so great: Have to make sure it is updated to send your returns

I have been using Turbo Tax for years. It is so easy anyone can do it.
What's great about it: So easy. Turbo tax leads you through your tax return and uses a language you can understand.

Everything went well until the State & Local Tax rate worksheet. It says right on it that my state doesn't need it, but it made me fill it out anyway
What's great about it: All but one area moved well
What's not so great: State & Local Tax should find the rates for you

2012 Tax Returns

The location for where you enter the intent & amount of your return to be applied to the next year is in the personal info section under estimated taxes. Each year once I have finished basic returns then I have to search thru sections to find the location to enter this info, seems like it could be added into basic return worksheet. Also if I enter one amount then during review find a change to return I then have to go back to find this location and enter the new amount - seems like a simple question could be added to ask if I want to apply the new return amount versus leave the original entry in place.
What's great about it: Data entered once is then carried forward thru most requirements
What's not so great: Location for indicating you want to apply refund to next year

I hate the once a year chore of doing taxes more than anything. Turbo tax seems to make it go easier.
What's great about it: seemed to work well
What's not so great: I guess I'll know if/when everything goes smoothly or not

Over time TurboTax has improved. Next big step might be to integrate college financial aid forms, like FAFSA.
What's great about it: Only way I can prepare taxes without assistance
