Very reliable software

I've been using TurboTax (and Quicken) for around twenty years. It has been reliable and stable. Considering the kinds of programs that you sometimes buy for Windows and how they would cause your computer problems, the stability of TT all these years is rather remarkable. It is a quality piece of software.
What's great about it: very reliable, I know what to expect after using since DOS 4.0 days

No easy access to TT software support

Disappointed that I cannot amend a 2011 return to include a Form 1099-R with a P code in box 7.
What's great about it: easy to file
What's not so great: does not have everything you need to ament a prior year return

I was able to do both my federal and state returns in less than 3 hours and got an extra $700 credit i had no idea about just because turbo tax asked me!

I have been using Turbotax for over 20 years and keep returning to it each year after reviewing the other tax preparation software available. If not for Turbotax, I would throw in the towel and take everything to a professional tax preparer.
What's great about it: Step-by-step completion
What's not so great: Tedious to find/edit specific categories

I have used Turbo Tax for several years. Before I tried it, I would have never done my own taxes. I feel that Turbo Tax leads me through filing my taxes in a logical and complete method. There are always deductions I may have forgotten without a reminder from the software.
What's great about it: Transfers data from previous years and reminds me of things I wouldn't consider
What's not so great: Still have to go to IRS documents to clarify certain issues

It may seem simple but you are truly not getting maximum deductions and by the time you complete state forms the cost is equal to using and accountant
