Gets the Taxes Done Every Year

I file jointly with my husband. We are in our late-20s, have no kids, no property, no savings account, no investments and, therefore, have no substantive assets. By contrast, what we do have is a mid-to-low middle-class income (singular). As a result, our taxes are exceptionally simple. Turbo Tax gets the job done.
However, I cannot help but wonder if a live person assisting with the preparation of our taxes would somehow result in better credits/deductions. This may simply be wishful thinking on my part.
Until the day I find a *competent* and *proficient* accountant who charges a flat-rate tax prep that is at/near the cost of Turbo Tax (ha ha)... I will stick with the easy data-entry program...
What's great about it: Straightforward: prompt -> data entry, prompt -> data entry (repeat until complete)
What's not so great: Am I getting the best deductions/credits? Would an accountant (person) suggest better options?

Another Great Return With TurboTax

I have used TurboTax for many years now and always come back to it at tax time. It is easy to use, integrates previous years returns to ease the details and does a great job of getting the highest possible return.... year after year!
What's great about it: Easy to use

Easy to use. Some of the explanations are confusing. I did not like all the fees.

I've used Turbo Tax since 2008 and don't have any major complaints. It's great, easy to use, professional and I will continue to use it. I recommend it to others every chance I have.
What's great about it: Easy, efficient, professional.
What's not so great: Ask a professional section, is not quick.

Love Turbo Tax

I love Turbo Tax. This is the fourth year I have used it. No real issues. I actually had to transfer prior files from one computer that crashed to another computer and the files transferred without any glitches. The interface is easy to follow and I love the software allows the connection to brokerage and employer to download the tax information.
What's great about it: So much easier than completing by hand
What's not so great: Still need to double-check your work. May not be appropriate for more complex returns

Very easy to work with

Since I started filing with Turbo Tax, I have felt in control of my taxes and feel more confident when filing. I find the fees to be much more reasonable than the "commercial filing experts" that are out there and if there is an issue, the program informs me immediately, unlike some other tax filing companies who just "do it" and not let you in on what was necessary. I also found that Turbo Tax to be very user friendly to those of us who don't have time to read the 1000 page IRS guide to filing by paper.
What's great about it: clear directions and explanations
What's not so great: sometimes updates take a while
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

GREAT SOFTWARE

I am not pleased with the download as it did not download. It seemed to force you to work online and that is not what I wanted. This part should be explained and allow people to chose.
I love the disk and the ability to use my PC, but linked to online. I recognise the need for online service, but want to work offline if necessary.
What's great about it: Easy To Use
What's not so great: I had trouble with the download, but not the disk
