Love the federal part

This is the 10th plus year I have used the federal. slipped the other guys in once and hated it.
Have tried the state for two years. Simply doesn't have the tools to do an out of state resident taxes. Wish it could. That would make my life much simpler. Won't pay for the state again as it just doesn't work for someone who lives in a no income tax state but has income from a state with income tax.
What's great about it: easy to use with super carryover
What's not so great: state does not work well with out of state resident.

Love using TurboTax--don't spend hundreds on a tax professional when you can do your taxes yourself. Give it a try and you'll be sold!
What's great about it: Easy to use, saves information year to year

the simple stuff is quick and easy, but when you have something special it takes extra money for upgrades.

I really like using this program and have used it for years. I believe this program succesfully guides me through completing my tax returns by asking questions and providing the information needed to correctly prepare and submit the return.
What's great about it: This product completely walks me through preparing tax returns step by step.
What's not so great: Having to scroll down each time you complete a deduction category rather then program going to bottom.

You Get What You Pay For

I used another product for years and since I switched from MS Money to Quicken decided to give TurboTax another try. I found the product easy to use and the navigation helpful. Quicken was just slick, for a tax package that is, and since I upgraded my Quicken at the same time, the price was reasonable. The only thing I think could be improved would be more of an artificial intelligence front end to the help. Most folks of us need real help trying to figure out taxes and AI interface would help. The ability to recall what we needed help with before, a help history that could port from year to year, would be a great benefit.
What's great about it: Accurate and Helpful
What's not so great: Need a more robust help interface

I depend on Turbo Tax every year

Even though I use Turbo Tax every year, I always choose the interview method, because it makes me feel confident that nothing is getting overlooked. I really like that TT picks up the info from last year. I also love being able to electronically transfer data from finacial institutions, and TT puts all the info in the correct locations on the return.
What's great about it: picks up info from last year, interview is easy
What's not so great: some things need more detailed explaination
