Turbo tax

Overall Turbo tax is very user friendly. I have used it the last 4 years and will continue to purchase
What's great about it: step by step instructions with explanations
What's not so great: not being able to see the form as it is being filled out

Bug in TurboTax

Be careful when filing VA state taxes and selecting VA "sales tax" instead of VA "income tax" on federal schedule A. The program takes your schedule A VA income tax as a VA deduction, inflating the VA deduction, and only subtracts the VA sales tax. A bad bug.

Worked Again but seemed a bit harder to use

I have confidence in the accuracy of Turbo Tax for what I enter into it and it's ability to transfer the information from my previous year's entries to make it easier. It also makes it easy to do my state returns in about 20 minutes total.
The only downside I see is that I have to answer the same question at least 3-4 times on how I want to input the data when entering dividends, interest, etc. I would prefer that it give me a choice for all up front to enter manually for all.
What's great about it: Easy to apply to my both state returns
What's not so great: Should allow you to repeat your first action for how you input your deductions or dividends, interest, etc.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I would use Turbo Tax again even if I had to get help.
What's great about it: Easy to use, it walked me through each step,
What's not so great: 1099-Misc form was confusing as it kept trying to get me to say my son was in business for himself which he wasn't.

Easy to use

This year's form was easy to complete. Info from last year was entered by turbo tax. Easy to make any changes necessary.
Last year we moved, sold house, sold extra land. It figured out all we needed to do.

I do like Turbo tax as it allows me to see the effect of each item on my return and the amount I will either pay or get back.
What's great about it: Easy to use great guide
What's not so great: Not completlty sure about some items and explaination just ok.
