I had a good experience with Turbo tax. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I know that next year will be even easier since much of my data will be able to be retrieved from this year's filing.

Overall this was pretty painless! It is straight forward and if something is not understood there is always an explanation. It would be really hard to miss something.
What's great about it: It walks you step by step and then double checks for mistakes...whats not to like

Turbo Tax Delux, Fed OK, State of WI weak

I've been using H&R Block's software for years, this year decided to do the taxes with BOTH H&R's and Turbo Tax. Some of the odd questions around AMT, and how Wisconsin does not allow many of the Fed credits so adjustments are needed, but BOTH programs are really weak in that area. Come on! If you are going to automate this, and create the wizards to interview us with questions, so that we enter the right numbers, you can't just say, see Wisconsin Publication xyz. I can do that filing on paper! I paid good money for this automation, and TT's research, but when it comes to the tougher situations, many times the questions TT asks are not that helpful in helping me decide how and what numbers to put in there. H&R Block's WI AMT help was better than TT. TT was better for doing the state. Both, ended up with the same refunds for me this year.
What's great about it: Defacto standard in Tax programs
What's not so great: They don't dig too deep into the State Programs (at least for WI)

I've been a user for the past six years! Since you can use the software to file two returns, my Mom and I always split the cost and the peace of mind we get when walking through the filing to get as much or as little detailed help we need is SO worth the small investment. I'll never go back to the expensive tax preparer I used before. We love TurboTax!
What's great about it: Walks me through in as much or as little detail as I need
What's not so great: Would like to be able to enter the tax form I receive (as a search) to enter faster

Refund Relief

Overall I am happy with Turbo Tax. I didn't like the fees added on at the end. For the money I saved, I am content with how easy Turbo Tax is to use. I was able to complete my taxes in a few hours and am happy with the result.
What's great about it: step by step guide, easy to follow, found errors, made it easy to correct
What's not so great: fees tacked on at the end.
