I have used Turbo Tax for years because of the simplicity of using the program. This year, however, I experienced locking up in the error check page. I contacted Turbo tax via phone and after waiting a long time, my calltaker was EXTREMELY patient and helpful. I will continue to use the program and I believe the issue occurred because the server was busy with filers like myself trying to file on the last day before the price went up.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Stopped working during error check (first time ever happening)

Excellent value

This product is an Excellent value for the money. I only use the deluxe version and it works for my stocks, home and deductions.
What's great about it: Inexpensive, Easy to use, Files your taxes
What's not so great: Updated software more than the initial upload.

I have used Turbo Tax software for the past five years. It seems to get better and easier each year and the cost is
affordable.E-filing is a great time saving tool and I am glad to be able to perform this for myself rather than need an expensive accountant.

Turbo Tax Fan for Over 10 Years

I have been using Turbo Tax to do our family and now my adult children's taxes, too, for over 10 years.
Last year, due to more complex tax situations to deal with, we paid to have an accountant do our taxes. I still did them at home via Turbo Tax and found more tax savings than he did. When i showed him my print out of Turbo Tax, he agreed with them, and he added my additional deductions, etc. (I think he should have given me a discount on his fees!)
We certainly didn't seek out an accountant this year. We just bought our 2012 Turbo Tax and did them at home!
What's great about it: Very user-friendly; you dont need to be an accountant or an attorney to do your taxes
What's not so great: I liked the older versions prior to 2011 better; examples and "help" options were better in the past

So easy to use with the Step-By-Step instructions

Overall it's a great and easy to use program. I have used Turbo Tax for over 10 years now and I still love it!
What's great about it: Easy if you have all the answers the first time through
What's not so great: difficult to go back and "add" numbers or info later

I found Turbo Tax very user friendly and simple to enter different types of income. I was able to go through the program very quickly.
What's great about it: Very easy to follow the program and enter my data.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax Great, Except for Refinancing a Mortgage

I refinanced my mortgage this year and paid off points from an original loan and added more points from the new loan. TurboTax just couldn't figure it out. I put in the total amount of new interest paid (at closing) and points paid (at closing), which was exactly what it asked me to do, and somehow it doubled, even triple counted this. Every time I went back to check, it added more deductions. Very strange. I finally had to go into "forms" and fill the darn thing out myself. I was very disappointed in the product this year. I have not had this many problems in the past (last year I had the same situation, thank heavens, so I knew what to do).
What's great about it: Ease of use in general, good at finding ways to save on taxes
What's not so great: Not very transparent. When there is a mistake you must dig to find it.
