Easy as Pie!

Turbotax does it again for me! I've been using it to do my taxes since 2005 and it has continued to improve and become easy even with all the changes that have occured in the tax code. Can't imagine doing my taxes without Turbotax
What's great about it: Walks me through the deductions
What's not so great: None
Pros: I had a baby, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

A program worth running

I use Turbo tax each year due to it's reliability and ease of use. It is nicely laid out and doesn't take a lot of time to fill in the information. I like the fact that it updates itself to be sure it has the latest laws and changes.
What's great about it: Easy to use and understand
What's not so great: There should be a lower-priced upgrade version for returning users.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Like the interview process

I did have a problem downloading and starting, created by myself. I did a chat yesterday that resolved everything. Susan was very helpful and patient. I have used turbo tax for many years, I did try the green one once but that did not seem to navigate as easily.
What's great about it: Interview
What's not so great: I know from past I need to use the standard deduction. It would be nice to have a skip option.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Very easy to use with easy entry of last years information.
Can easily pull in outside tax information from internet sources if you want.
I love the more information highlights in each area as sometimes it is hard to understand what is being asked for since accounting is not my field of interest. Then if you are still confused the ask the community section is a life saver as I have yet to find something I have a question about that has not already been asked by someone else and an answer provided.
The ability to price charitable donated items with itsDeductable is priceless.
Have used Turbotax for several years and have even looked at other tax software products but by far this is the easiest to use for me.

Thinking about new software next year

I found this year's turbo tax deluxe to be less user friendly than in years past. Also had to google solutions for the block on the IL e-file due to a 0 contained on line 13 of the tax worksheet which apparently should have been left blank. A consumer should not have to google the solution for TT's software glitch. A patch should have been provided in an update. I filed on 3/22 and I can tell from online discussions that multiple people had this problem on earlier dates. Really added a lot of extra time to the return and due to the frustration, I will be considering other preparation software next year.
What's great about it: Love the easy step by step guide
What's not so great: Problem with Illinois state e-file was very frustrating.
