Good experience with Turbo Tax every year. What I would like to see happen is have more of a tie in between a parents return and a dependents return. This would be helpful with forms like 1099-Q and 1098-T etc. If when doing the dependents form TUrbo Tax would open the parents form and see what was entered and therefore know exactly what was needed to be reported or not on the dependents form. I had to read fine print on 1099-Q to determine what needed to be reported and what did not. It would be an improvement over Questions like ' If the person who claims you as a dependent used your education expences ..." I have to go back and fourth. Maybe it is not easy to program but what a leg up on the competition.
What's great about it: Step by step process through tax forms. Loads previous years return thereby saving reentry.
What's not so great: Sometimes it is difficult to determine what gets entered on dependents tax form versus parents.

Evaluation of Turbotax 1012 Regular & Business

Overall, I found Turbotax effectively checked any deductions due me, asked follow up questions to make sure I was inputting the correct data. I have been able to go back and add new information easily. It saved me CPA costs as well. I used the two Turbo tax versions to file 4 returns.
What's great about it: Able to tie two returns together with K-1
What's not so great: Not Really any major ones

I've used Turbo Tax for over 10 years. Last year I used a tax professional since I started my own business, but returned to Turbotax this year because the software covered everything the tax accountant did, but for 1/10 the cost! Easy refund

I wanted to just come into the application to submit just my state taxes and it was not really easy to get to just that because they combine both the federal and state taxes and I was worried that I would be submitting the federal again. But it worked out and I submitted what I needed to.
What's great about it: simple easy to use
What's not so great: not a real good seperation between federal and state taxes.
