So Sinch!

It was very quick and very simple. I have never filed on my own before and I think it was way better than making an appointment to go in and wait. I was able to do it at home in my pj's and could come and go as I pleased! I am definitely going to do this next year! I should have been doing this since the beginning!!
What's great about it: It was so easy to do and follow
What's not so great: I would have liked to be required to review the entire thing to ensure accuracy. Instead I did it on my own.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Finally worked!

All in all, Turbo Tax is a very helpful program which guided me through the increasingly complex Federal & state forms, which are no longer available in print form.
What's great about it: Guided me through the complicated tax forms
What's not so great: It kept refusing my state tax return, yet charged me for electronic filing.

Amended tax returns are easy

This is the first time in 34 years I've ever had to file an amended tax return. I was afraid it would be tricky, but TurboTax made it easy by providing a video and detailed instructions. At first I said I wanted to do both federal and state, and entered all the changes. Then I remembered I hadn't filed my state return yet, so I didn't need to file an amended return for them. It took me several tries to find the screen that asked me if I wanted to amend federal and/or state. But by being careful I made it all work out.
What's great about it: Easy, guides you through the process
What's not so great: Sometimes it's hard to find a page once you've already gone past it and filled in other information

As Simple or As Detailed as you Need!

I've been using TurboTax Deluxe for itemized deductions for about 10 years, and I've been impressed by the incremental improvements that Intuit has made each year. This product continues to evolve, and so far that's been a good thing!
What's great about it: Allows fairly sophisticated returns, like multi-state, without having to pay a professional.
What's not so great: Having to answer all of the ridiculous state-specific questions every time you go back and revisit it.
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

i have used TT for many years and will continue to do so. I painfully dread tax time and TT makes it much less painful, and saves me a tremendous amount of time.
What's great about it: whenever unsure the answer is available

I have use TTax for many years and I am not sure I could get through tax time without it. I would have to go to a CPA if I didn't have it. I like being able to switch between Forms and Q/A so easily. Also the ease of transferring info from last year and into the state filing forms.
What's great about it: Ease of transfer to state
What's not so great: A little slow on my old machine
