I've been using Turbo Tax to prepare and file my own taxes now for over a decade, with quick, easy and reliable results. Turbo Tax helps me to consistently maximize my refunds, minimize my liabilities, keeps my returns error-free, and speeds preparation by importing data from the prior year's returns and by downloading W2s and 1099s. With the added convenience of e-filing, I'm done in no time. With dependable results like this, I'll continue to be a Turbo Tax devotee for a long time to come.
What's great about it: Allows you to tailor the guidance to your skills level and needs.
What's not so great: Didn't auto-uninstall prior year's Turbo Tax (a minor thing, really).
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Love Turbo Tax -- that's why I've been buying it all these years!
What's great about it: Asks you all of the questions so you don't forget anything -- and the forms are all available with the program
What's not so great: Had some difficulty entering mortgage interest points -- asked for pts. on same box as interest -- then asked again

Loyal Turbo Tax User

I have used Turbo Tax for 10+ years and have always found the software to be very easy to use. The questions are thorough and have always addressed all of my issues. If there were quesions, it was always easy to find the answers. Tthis is the first year that I have ever encountered any difficulty; however, given the long and successful track record that I have had, something was bound to happen sooner or later. In essence, upon the completion of the tax review and addressing the errors, the program recycled me back to the error page. It was quite frustrating and I was unable to e-file. After trying to resolve the issue on my own for almost three (3) hours, I finally went to the Turbo Tax "Chat with a Pro." The Turbo Tax representative spent well over an hour with me attempting to resolve this issue. The rep furnished outstnading service and was professional, thorough, knowledgable, and patient. At the end, it was determined the problem was a software issue and I was furnsihed with instructions how to e-file once Turbo Tax resolved the problem. I could not have been more satisified with the manner in which everything was resolved. Turbo Tax is user friendly, easy to navigate, and furnished exceptional customer service. With such outstanding service, I fully expect to continue to use Turbo Tax in the future.
What's great about it: Easy to use; very user friendly; outstanding customer service

Most Cost-effective way to do taxes

TurboTax is by far the most cost-effective way for people to file their taxes. We have a fairly simple tax return so I feel confident with the service that TurboTax provides. Someday, when I have more investments and questions, I will probably invest in a tax expert but for now TurboTax gets the job done for far cheaper than a CPA.
What's great about it: I love the step-by-step process. It makes doing taxes so easy because everything is explained very clearly.
What's not so great: Don't have any.

No one knows the answer to tax questions except those who spend a great deal of time studying the law, regulations, rulings, judicial decisions, etc. The helps and answers to question are clear and easy to understand. Thank you for including them.

Makes filing taxes a breeze, not a headache

TurboTax Deluxe provides easy to understand step-by-step instructions in filing taxes, leaving nothing out. At the end of each section, it summarizes where you are in collecting information. The easy navigation allows you to go back for review or go forward to look at sections yet to come. I like the way I can save a copy and/or print one out as well as e-file for a quick refund. I can be sure that the software is the most current one since it checks for updates upon opening. It also checks for errors and estimates whether you might be subject to an audit. Very handy! TurboTax stands behind their product.
What's great about it: Step-by-step instructions, Summarizes sections, Easy to navigate
