Very satisfied

This is my third year of preparing returns with TurboTax and I am satisfied as usual. Highly recommended to all the people who don't know how to do their taxes. For example, I have a friend who had a tax advisor prepare her taxes and was not informed about the installment payment option. This option is very clear when preparing with TurboTax. Cons - some items lack specific information. Maybe it is available somewhere at intuit, but it would be nice to have more in-depth info within TurboTax package. For example: What is the recommended method of valuating your personal item donations? How exactly all the deductions and credits for childcare are calculated?
What's great about it: walking through each part of returns
What's not so great: Not enough information on certain items like childcare costs
Pros: I had a baby, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

So easy!!

I have used Turbo Tax for several years. I just purchased a home and wasn't sure if I should go to a professional. I decided to go with Turbo Tax and it was great. The software makes it so easy to answer the question and check for errors. I will continue to use Turbo Tax. How great is it to do this after work and not have to make an appointment and pay twice as much as I did for Turbo Tax. I was in the comfort of my own home and did it under an hour. Thank you for this great product. You take the stress out of the process!!
What's great about it: Fast, private, safe, easy, accurate, great options for double check of info or errors
What's not so great: Pay to file on top of the software purchase

What's great about it: Intuitive and simple, comprehensive and fast
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

fairly simple tax filing aid

Overall, it is the best filing program I've found (for my tax situation), but still requires answering lots of questions that could be skipped if the program asked a more basic question.
What's great about it: step by step guidance
What's not so great: lots of detailed questions that didn't apply to me

Getting better all the time

Good job, Turbotax, with taking us through another tax filing season! The financial industry has its own language that can be a pain trying to understand what is meant. The program helps a lot with the guidance and answers.
What's great about it: Makes filing taxes so much easier
What's not so great: There are still some challenges understanding the financial terms

Great software, except for two small import errors

I've used TurboTax ever since I came to college, as I had been using Quicken since early high school to develop sound financial habits and live by a budget. The marriage between the two is fantastic- it imports all my data, and the process of filing taxes is painless.
The only shortfalls with the software I've found are 1) if you import your W-2 forms manually AND also import your Quicken data (and you didn't use Paycheck setup) it duplicates your salary, potentially misleading you about how much you made. It's all in the details, so anyone actually being thorough will catch that.
Secondly, somehow Turbotax considered my last year's returns as an "overpayment" of taxes on my part, even after using the EasyGuide, which I was completely perplexed by. During the error check, it kept getting hung up on needing to have a state employer tax ID number, which obviously for tax refunds don't exist. I ended up having to tweak this manually, and although it wasn't a huge deal, I was surprised at such a simple error in the EasyGuide portion of the software.
Is it enough to make me jump ship? Certainly not. The program works flawlessly from start to finish apart from that, and I will keep using it as long as I use Quicken (read: with no end in sight). A solid buy, and takes the fear out of tax season. Plus, it feels empowering knowing you did your own taxes, even if it was with TurboTax's help.
What's great about it: Interface, in-depth help, professional support, makes taxes a snap to do
What's not so great: Can be finnicky about numbers (as it should be), but in a slightly annoying way
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Refund review

I believe Turbo tax is getting less transparent in how the data entered is being used in the Tax forms. Not many explainations when asking for data. The excessive fee to deduct fee from the return is high and insulting.
What's great about it: Better than filling out paper work manually
What's not so great: Extra fees at end, lack of access/explaination of data requests
