Leary of using Turbo Tax

It was alot CHEAPER than taking to Accountant Every year . Their rates cont to soar every year.
What's great about it: The Delux Provided everything I needed to do cover Rental. The walk thur was easy to follow& cover all my Tax Needs.

I have been using Turbo Tax for about 5 years and it's like working with a trusted tax preparer. It remembers my info and populates it which saves time and ensures that I don't forget anything. I have never claimed medical expenses in the past, thinking that I wouldn't have enough to warrant the effort. Was I surprised to find that I ended up with a $1700 deduction with the step by step guidance of Turbo Tax!!
What's great about it: Quick, easy, accurate

Getting better

This was fourth year to use. It is frustrating to have to buy TT Business to prepare the simple 1041's for two trusts then have to enter the information by hand into TT Deluxe for the associated 1040's. They should be bundled together into one program for simple use. Sugest TT Premium. THIS IS ONLY LOGICAL since all 1041's must be reflected on a 1040. After 4 years learning how to use and getting better but still had two questions. Got good answers after a wait. Confidence in the programs is increasing and inputing data from brokerages is fantastic.
What's great about it: Easier to use than last year, learning.
What's not so great: Would like Trusts bundled with TT Premium

Turbo Tax makes doing your taxes easy.

Overall - I've been using Turbo Tax for many years and will continue to use this program. It makes doing taxes easy.
What's great about it: Ease of use. Prompts for every detail so you don't miss anything.
What's not so great: Had trouble downloading the State.

2012 Return

I was please again in 2012 in using TurboTax Deluxe to prepare my return. I had one problem, which I call the Support line and talked with Nick from upper NY. He was very helpful and patience while we were online fixing my situation.
I like the ease of navigation thru the different sections of the return instead of being lead by the program.
I will use TurboTax again in 2013 for sure. Jim

What's great about it: It was easy to do my own navigation thru the forms
What's not so great: At the end it did not tell me how to get my $10 reduction on purchasing Quicken.

Frustrated until...

I could not find the screen where I would input the nontaxable rollover contribution amount. It was extremely frustrating and my tax amount kept showing in RED a very high amount of tax due when I knew I should be receiving a small amount as a return. My financial advisor actually suggested to me that I should not use Turbo Tax. I have used it successfully for many years so stuck with it by speaking directly to a Customer Service person (Nicole) who patiently led me to the proper screen (which had NEVER come up before). The Community chat room was of no help.
What's not so great: input of nontaxable rollover contribution was a nightmare.
