Simple, complete, easy

My secret that helps tremendously with Turbo tax is having my information organized and ready. Once you use Turbo tax a couple of times, you know the information needed and you know how to organize your information throughout the year.
What's great about it: Ask tax questions that I didn't consider
What's not so great: have to scroll down to get to the next income/deduction
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Tax Return for 2012

I wish that there was a way to correct information on the forms. I could tell that there was an error in my rental house section. I'm not sure how it got there, but the amount of interest was double what it should be. (I think I clicked more, thinking that Turbo Tax would allow me to input more expenses). I had to delete the whole section, and start over. The error did not show in the step-by-step questions.
I also had an unusual situation of making a non-cash contribution. I knew that I needed form 8283, but this did not show up easily. I finally found it when I clicked on forms.
Everything took me much longer this year.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax has always been great in the past, and I will get a quick refund.
What's not so great: I had more difficulty inputting data this year than any other year.

EACH YEAR, I PURCHASE THE DISC AND THE INFO DOESN'T TRANSFER FRM THE PREVS YEAR. IT'S ALSO A SLIGHT AGGREVATION THAT BOTH OF OUR EMPLOYERS DON'T TRANSFER W2'S.

Turbo Tax Deluxe is Great

When I finish filling out my tax return, all I want to do is print a copy to review and put in my file and then print a copy to mail. You seem to have several confusing pages in between. I'm skeptical of the efile procedure. You would be sending everything about my wife and me over the internet which has been hacked. No thank you, I'll mail.
What's great about it: Even I could follow the instructions
What's not so great: File section too complicated

Too many "baby sit" issues with software. Shouldn't have to "read between the lines" for W2 info, e-file federal, print file copy, better info on what will be printed for state return. Laptop status bar prevents click on preview print command - had to email the documents to my desktop computer to print them. Steady customer for over 10 years. Still loyal but this year TT overworked a tired old retiree!
What's great about it: Stays current with the tqx code and assures math accuracy
What's not so great: harder to return to specific sections and sub topics that before
