Easy to Use

Program seems to make filing taxes simple and straight-forward. I say "seems" because only by using a professional tax preparer can one know if all the deductions and credits have been applied.

As an old retiree this program fits the budget & makes you feel as if you have some control.
What's great about it: Able to go at your own rate & instructions and tips are great

Have used the software for many years with much success. This year for the first time the program failed to find and transfer last year's TurboTax file from my hard drive. This is a great feature.......saves time and allows historical comparisons on the 'tools' menu. Other than this inconvenience this year, the program has saved me many hours of time and has proven to be an effective tool.
What's great about it: Easy, accurate and concise to use.Particularly like the feature allowing downloading of Broker Accounts into Schedule D.
What's not so great: Long wait periods for 'chat' or on-line help.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I Hate Taxes 2012

This is the sixth year I have used turbo tax. Every year I wonder if I should go and get this done by a pro or go back to turbo tax. The help you need is right there at your fingertips with the turbo tax community. All the questions I have to ask myself because I am not sure if I am answering correctly, I ask on the turbo tax community and get enough answers to understand what it is that I need to answer. They are great. This is one of the reasons I keep trusting my ability as a tax preparer. I have the experts at turbo tax to help me prepare them. I'll be back next year. Thanks Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: How it brings all my information up from prior years.
What's not so great: That you have to pay extra for state returns and it doesn't handle local return.

I have been using the software for years and see no need to switch. It seems to get more efficient each year. So far, so great! :-)

Ive been using turbo tax since 1993. Love it, love it, love it!!!
What's great about it: love being able to easily toggle between the directed interview and forms

Another year, another set of tax forms

Retain copies of my state forms (Massachusetts) contain too many irrelevent pages. Is it really necessary to print out all those pages of the Massachusetts "Schedule HC Worksheet"? There are13 printed pages for myself and my wife, in total, Many pages have no entrys. And there are duplicates except for my name or my wife's name. Really!! One sectionsays to complete only if you are filing an appeal. Why print it out? Another sectiion speaks to a religious exemption. There are empty worksheets for lines 10, 11 and 12. Do they really need to be printed out?
I hope Turbo Tax can find a way to eliminate much of this waste of paper and printing ink.
