2012 Tax Filing Program

Progrgram worked very well. I do think the program is over priced by about $20.00 since you have to pay an addational fee to file your state taxes.
What's great about it: Very easy to use and understand.
What's not so great: A little over priced.

not their best effort

Too many issues with updates. My first attempt to finish and send taxes, it said forms were not available and they would email me when they were. I got an email saying they were available, but they weren't. Still couldn't finish and send.After about 20 minutes on hold , I spoke to John and he worked with me to get the electronic version, which was updated. I won't buy the CD next year, just go straight to the electronic version.
What's great about it: John on the help line fixed my problem
What's not so great: software wouldn't update, unable to finish taxes

Over all it is a good product. I had some reservations when it opened this year asking me to pay for something else, though.
What's great about it: The question format makes it easy to not miss anything
What's not so great: The continue button should not be only at the bottom of the page. it's frustrating to have to continually scroll down wh

Online Filing Nightmare

While I've always believed that TurboTax was a good product, this year I chose to use the online version. It was a mistake. There's no access to forms with the online version which should be mandatory with any version. The state program kept freezing and kicking me offline. Without exaggeration, I worked with 4 different online reps and spent over 5 hours of my time trying to solve the problem. It was never solved. I had to download the software and transfer my return to it, then re-review everything again. I will never use the online version again. It's simply not made for Mac users.

TURBOTAX RULES!

I HAVE BEEN USING TURBOTAX FOR MANY YEARS FOR MY OWN PERSONAL TAXES. I HAD TO TAKE A TAX COURSE IN COLLEGE THAT REQUIRED USING H&R BLOCK.- IT WAS NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE!! TURBOTAX IS VERY EASY TO USE, PROFESSIONAL AND THERE IS ALWAYS AN ANSWER WAITING IF YOU RUN INTO A PROBLEM OR IF A QUESTION ARISES. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK TURBOTAX!
What's great about it: EASY, PROFESSIONAL
What's not so great: NONE

Simple / all fun filing experience.

What's great about it: No stress filing experience.
What's not so great: Fee to e-file state returns.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Been using Turbo Tax for a number of years. Disappointed this year. Had glitches, where information would not fill in, had to turn off and restart before would work properly. Never had this type problem before. Happened a few times.

The special tax benefit for PSO was hard. Could not find any information on it besides the letter from my state retirement and pension system telling me about it.
What's not so great: Being a retired PSO the PPA of 2006 was hard to figure out
