The ONLY Way To Do Your Own Taxes

TurboTax seems to get better every year. Obviously Intuit always makes sure everything in the process is perfectly easy to follow, from the instructions to the way the program works to all the extra information at your fingertips to answer ANY question.
What's great about it: Absolutely flawless; made very easy to follow.
What's not so great: None

Back buttons often send me to beginning of entire section - not just one page - forcing me to review all prior entries in section.

What's great about it: Transfer of 2011 Turbo Tax return. Guided entry of data.
What's not so great: 2011 California taxes due was imported as refund.

Too many errors

Entry of a 1099Misc with box 3 income was a mess. It has not been a problem in prior years.
I was happy that you managed the QCD situation as it should be.
Pensions do not require RMDs. You had me very worried with the questions and commentary you introduced in this regard this year. Taxes are stressful enough without that kind of thing.
Not copying a 1099R from last year was a pain and made me go backward to get it in the return. Same for the 1099MISC that gave me so much of a problem (and I was not alone from comments I read from the user community).
Why do you not tell me what errors are being fixed with the updates?
What's not so great: 1099MISC Box 3 was a mess. Also not bringing over a 1099R and a 1099MISC from 2011, requiring new entry

One Day of Satisfaction

Sixth year of being a satisfied customer and now that we are retired the benefits of having an online service is just as powerful. I started my 88-year old father on Turbo-Tax last year with great success. thanks.
What's great about it: Only gives me the details that I okay. Love the ability to look up more info.

15 great years of TurboTax

Turbo Tax has made it easy for me to do my own taxes for approx. 15 years now. Through marriage, children, moving, new home buying, and renting property, Turbo Tax has been there with simple to use "guide me" help and their own experts through Live Chat! Thank-You Turbo Tax, there hasn't yet been a tax situation that you could not help me with!!
What's great about it: easy "guide me" help and TurboTax live chat with experts

Problems with Turbo Tax

Wanted information on a carry over work sheet which I have no idea what or why so I just passed it up. Also did not transfer (or ask for) the percentage of in state tax free interest earned on an investment. When I entered the amount on the federal part of Turbo Tax I entered Interest Earned in Multiple states. TT never asked me what percentage was earned in my state. Then when I was in the State Return preparation the whole amount was sent to the state return and there was no way I could change the dollar amount so I ended up paying tax on tax free interest earned in my state. BUMMER!
What's great about it: Fairly easy to use and easy steps.
What's not so great: Took me places where I had no idea why.
