First Time Filing Taxes!

Overall I was satisfied with TurboTax. As a first time tax filer, I was able to complete my returns without too much trouble. I will definitely continue to use TurboTax in the future.
What's great about it: Everything is organized and easy to follow. There are help links in each step of process that are very useful.
What's not so great: First time filers may have trouble/confusion with some of the steps.

Excellent product

I've used turbo tax for many years and recommended it to all my friends. An excellent product.
What's great about it: Very weill laid out and clear manner of doing my taxes.
What's not so great: I had to go back and print my state (Michigan) tax separately. Did not come up automatically.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Better than the past, but still problems

Had to contact two layers of support for problem with Misc 1099 form entry. The program loops and support agrees with me. At the end, it is still hard to efile the Federal return and mail the state. Getting one single copy of everything printed for your records is only possible if you ignore some of the instructions. It has always been this way. And it is not easy.
The newer versions have a better user interface and is easy to use in most cases to input your information, check it, and make any necessary changes. I also like the way it gets my data from last year and lets me use it for this year if I want.

TAX filing review success

Everything was straight forward regarding the Fed'l & State tax questions. There were some inputs on the Federal forms that were not on the 1099 documents we had, but they were not important. That may be due to the IRS changing forms.
The main area that was a problem that I (as the spouse) never got an opportunity to update my contact phone number. This was not critical as my husband's phone number was correct and was the default phone contact.
However, I do see my old phone number still on the filing. Before e-filing I tried to go in and edit it but I couldn't find a method to do so.
Another problem was even after Turbo Tax checked for errors and replied all was correct there were some changes that had to be made and this did not crop up until we were in the e-filing stage. It was a minor matter of 3 items on schedule A that had to be zeroed out as opposed to blank. This should have been caught earlier during the review.
Never the less, everything worked out fine and the entire process was quick and easy.
What's great about it: Pretty straight forward
What's not so great: I wasn't given a prompt to update some personal info (phone number)

Super Fast, Accurate and Easy!!

I Have used Turbo Tax for 14 years now and it has proven to be the Ultimate Income Tax Prep Software by far. The ease and accuracy of preparing your personal taxes is unequalled by any software on the market today. The ability of importing income, tax deductions outside of Turbo Tax is one of the features that impresses me most. The ease in which it performs these tasks in quite impressive. Thank You Turbo tax!

I can't remember the specific item, but there was a place where you instructed us to review last years records to get some info for this years forms. I don't know why your program wouldn't retrieve this info.
Also when it asked for the date in signature sections, it kept saying wrong date. I entered it {same way} three times before it accepted.
Also when I reached the section to pay, I couldn't remember my username. I clicked on "can't remember user name" and you were to send me an email to reset my username, it never came thru.
I am not a new user of TurboTax. I've used it for years and always found it straight forward and easy to use.
