I HAVE BEEN USING TURBOTAX FOR OVER 10 YEARS.
WITH MINOR EXCEPTIONS IT HAS MADE MY LIFE EASIER. I ALSO APPRECIATE THE ONLINE HELP THAT IS MADE AVAILABLE.
What's great about it: FAMILIAR PROGRAMS
What's not so great: SOME ZINGERS ABOUT INVESTMENTS

Prior years were easier to navigate to topics if entering corrected portions. Federal return is easier to navigate through, would like to see state return navigation just as easy.
What's great about it: good guides through topics
What's not so great: state topics not easily found-must go through whole program

Just want to e-file

really had problems with e-filing, IRS would not accept, even though I e-filed in 2010 and 2011 with no problems.
the only thing that has changed is I got a new computer with windows 8........just not sure I will use this next year.....this has really caused a problem because I needed this info filed asap so I can update my daughters fafsa forms for her financial aid package.

What's great about it: I don't have to gather info and go somewhere else to get taxes done

transfer of previous year's tax return information

reviewed form 8863 and noted it stated 1098-T was checked off "no" when asked if such form was provided in 2011. Noted this was not true and asked why it was not accurate. It appears I needed to answer several more questions for the form to be accurate in responding "yes" to that question. The program carried over previous year's dollar amount of educational expenses but didn't carry over information of the 2011 form 1098-T.
What's great about it: simple easy to use
What's not so great: didn't transfer previous year's educational expenses information

All 2011 information transferred accurately. Clear instructions. Final steps needs more explicit instructions regarding: 1) estimated taxes and 2) a direct save-to-disk option.

Very Happy Turbotax User

I've been using TurboTax since it first showed up on the market. This year, once again, FLAWLESS SIMPLICITY.
I keep accurate records. So TurboTax step by step assistance is INVALUABLE. It HELPS ORGANIZE, it CALCULATES ACCURATELY, it walks me through STEP BY STEP, and it SAVES ME HUNDREDS.
Once in the past, I used TurboTax and then also went back to my accountant. TurboTax found deductions MISSED BY THE ACCOUNTANT, and INCREASED MY REFUND.
What a FANTASTIC PRODUCT!
What's great about it: Simplicity, Accuracy, Ease of Use, Trouble Free
What's not so great: Year to year change in the human/machine interface.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
