The loop for asking the same questions after the questions have been previously answered needs to be upgraded.

This year it did not import tax free income information from previous years (i.e., 1099-DIV). The section on Tax Exempt Interest did not work. It just kept looping back to the update screen. So instead, all tax exempt interest information (payees and amounts) had to be entered in the "Dividends on 1099-DIV" section.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Tax Exempt Interest section did not work.

I've been using Turbo Tax since 1995 - now I help my son do his return and my mom do hers. Saves me big headaches every year.

Problems this year

I am a long time TurboTax user and I have always been more than satisfied with its performance.....until this year. When reviewing and printing I noted the presence of a Schedule E form with information related to a Partnership that has not existed for years. I tried every thing I could think of to make that form and its information go away. The TurboTax community was no help at all. After an hour of trying I gave up and E-filed with the Schedule E included. Really frustrating!
What's great about it: Easy to follow and understand
What's not so great: Could not delete an old no-longer-existing partnership

My returns were not being accepted for e-filing due to the lack of a new pin being entered. Instead of telling me exactly what the problem was, I was told my return could not be efiled due to an update being needed. As soon as I discovered myself what the problem was-- and fixed it by adding my new pin, I was able to exile.
What's great about it: Love the way I am led to all the info needed to complete my returns.
What's not so great: no warning that I had neglected to enter my new pin, causing the problem I was having.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax is what we used for several years and never, ever had a problem concerning Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Ask the questions needed and very accurate reporting
What's not so great: n/a
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have used Turbo Tax for many years, probably more than 20 years, and have found the experience easier and faster each year. Less expensive and more confidence than when I used to use a tax preparer.
What's great about it: Quick and easy to understand instructions
