Get More With Turbo Tax Than Just Your Taxes Filed

Overall great - love using it for my taxes. Helps me have a solid snapshot of my annual financial situation. Where money is coming in and where it is going out.
One possible improvement is that once I answer a string of questions that various issues do not apply, if I go back and change an entry, such as add another charity, do not make me answer all the questions again, or at least leave my old answers in place so I do not have to re-check them.

Turbotax in Record Time

Excellent software. I'll dfinitely get it again, next tax year.
What's great about it: Easier to complete this year.
What's not so great: Had to recheck for errors 5 times. Why can't it correct the 5 errors the 1st time?

Still depending on TurboTax

Overall the program is excellent. Intuit has done a good job in making it easier to please the IRS. I think I could have saved more time it were possible to interrupt the step-by-step process to review earlier entries and then return to the exact screen I was working on. Now you have to restart the entire "step" and repeat work previously done. My second suggestion has to do with foreign tax credits, The IRS no longer requires individual country identification for claiming the tax credit or deduction, but the TurboTax instructions claim that info from each country is needed for TurboTax to do its job. That is true for only some states, but Florida (my home) is not one of them. (No income tax, no return.)
I finally forced the program to accept "aggregated" as the only country involved to avoid calculating for up to 20 countries per fund. That would be too much work for too few dollars.

What's great about it: Relevant info is built-in or readily accessible.No problems with completeness or accuracy over several years.
What's not so great: Two suggestions (see review below)

Finally Nailed it!!!

I cannot tell enough people about how T T helps me so much with tax returns: the amount of additional deduction I'm allowed and the amount of my ferderal refunds each year. Thank you TT.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax asks all the right questions.
What's not so great: Takes too long to complete both fed & State

Prep before using Turbo Tax

Is it possible to provide a section on preparation for next return? Without getting too granular, provide guidance on what to record during the year for next year’s return. How to group items under certain schedules. So entries will be easier. This is great for those who use Quicken or other financial software.
Great job - good programming on next release
What's great about it: Simplicity of the software logic, the layout and user interface was well implemented.
What's not so great: No voice activation – for those with disabilities and was it 508 compliant?

Once a "payer" has been entered for a 1099-R, details should be retained by software.
Whether a pension or annuity is a "qualified" plan or not could be information SUPPLIED by TurboTax. "Contact your administrator" is not helpful.
