Not all info transferred with multple states

Not all info transferred with multple states into both ny and nj returns. Used last year as well, may have to adjust last year as well.
What's great about it: Easy to follow menus
What's not so great: When error noticed by check, not sure how to correct

2012 Tax Return Quckly

TurboTax was easy to use and figured out my taxes quickly. Was more expensive than last year. Seems to go up every year. Liked the way you could set up payments and returns.
What's great about it: Easy to do and led me through forms.
What's not so great: Did not get any money back this year but used all available deductions.

Good program. Easy to use. Chat help was slow (one hour wait), but the helper was very good.

capital gains worksheet is cumbersome for F8949

would like to see a direct entry worksheet much like the one that UTS uses for the IRS software, TAx Wise
Knowledgeable preparers can make the A,B, C entry for sales and dispositions, without answering all those questions and viewing all the extraneous info
Yes, the requirements are specific, but not everyone needs all the extras

What's great about it: very detailed
What's not so great: Individual worksheets are tedious when brokerage can't directly download 1099B info

Good, solid product

I have been using TurboTax for more than a decade and am very satisfied with the results. I tend to use the Step-by-Step method, so that I don't accidentally overlook anything -- and even then, little things can slip past you, but as long as you do your own review of your work, those little things always come to light, and TurboTax allows you to easily move back and forth between its guided system (Step-by-Step) and a manual approach (Forms), so you can always go back and redo a section to get it right. This year, for the first time in her life, my wife switched from being on someone's payroll to working as an independent contractor, so she received 1099-MISC forms form those who paid her instead of W-2 forms from an employer, but TurboTax Deluxe made dealing with that easy -- and guided us through the process of figuring out self-employment taxes and business-expense deductions and equipment depreciation/amortization. And Intuit's It's Deductible website makes calculating non-cash charitable donations a breeze. Excellent software!
What's great about it: Thoroughness, flexibility of Guide You vs. Jump Around
What's not so great: Little things can slip past you

Ok, but info did not transfer

I used a new computer, and my info did not transfer over this year to Turbo Tax. I had to go back to my old files for information several times. Just a bit of a pain.
What's great about it: Very thorough, easy to do
What's not so great: Last year's info did not transfer
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

quick and easy to download, easy to navigate, great explanations, help every step of the way
What's great about it: easy to use, walks you through each step
What's not so great: wish there were a version between basic and deluxe if you only have basic deductions but can't use form 1040ez
