TurboTax Deluxe 2012

I have been using the TurboTax product for many years now. It is very easy to use & the step-by-step, item-by-item, line-by-line guides are easy to understand & incredibly helpful. TurboTax does an excellent job maintaining the absolute latest information, via updates & downloads, from both the Federal government & State government concerning the required forms & instructions based on the most current changes in the tax law. I have had zero problems using TurboTax. I have had zero problems with my forms after filing. For me, TurboTax is perfect product for me & my tax situation.
What's great about it: Very easy to use, very good directions

OK, but could be better

I hate the interview format. I don't need a tax program to be my friend. It should require information, not ask for it. For the first time in 50 yrs of preparing my own taxes I needed to file an amended form for 2011 because TT assigned an incorrect class to a capital item. I will probably continue to use it, but will double-check many items to be certain they are correct
What's great about it: year to year continuity, instant calculations
What's not so great: Too little acknowledgement of issues specific to farming and timber

State(Postal Code) ambiguity cost me two days of agony trying what to enter. In the Review correction box, one box would not accept an entry, the other did. Therefore for one 1099-Div I had to return to the income area to correct that one 1099-Div, and the other was accepted in the Review section. This cost about two day of delay. the TTax community was of no help. For each suggested method to correct was a corresponding comment that it didn't work. Does anyone at TTax review the TTax community site??
What's great about it: Self Guide good, one exception see below
What's not so great: description/exlpanation of "State(Postal Code)"

Good for Repeat Customers

The help screen fonts were tiny, I couldn't read them and couldn't figure out how to change them to a larger print. Asking questions or searching for answers was difficult and tedious. When it first decided that I couldn't itemize, finding totals and reasons etc was very frustrating. I found myself going to forms more than ever before because I had problems understanding the reasoning behind the decisions.
What's great about it: Since I've used Turbo Tax for years, the process is easyl.
What's not so great: There are some changes this year that I didn't like.

The error should have been caught way back when doing the Income Review and not at the very last second...didn't give me a good feeling.
What's not so great: I had put zero in Box 10 for my W2 and the error was not caught until I hit the button to send the return to the IRS!

Fast And Easy Refund

Overall a GREAT software program for filing taxes! Will use them again and again and will tell friends how simple it was to file taxes and not pay inflated tax fees by accountants
What's great about it: Fast and easy since used Turbo in past easy transfer !!

Mostly Good - Been using for years

I was filling out my daughter's tax form for the first time - she only made 1,000 in income and 200 in interest income. The software had me going all the way to paying to submit electronically to federal and state, even though she owned nothing and was to receive nothing. I didn't think she needed to file and after a long time searching, found the answer (which is 'No') in one of your articles. I would think this would be a relatively easy thing to program into your software, rather than have me file needlessly.
What's great about it: Like the layout
