I thought taxes were supposed to be hard

I had no problems doing my return especially since I was able to download all of my banking and savings accounts information. It took me less time than some t.v. shows ~50 mins!
What's great about it: Quick download of banking information
What's not so great: none

Easy Tax

I've been using TurboTax for years and it has made my tax season much less stressful even when I had to pay my taxes. I especially like the part about TT going to my employers' data files to get my W2 info. Thanks TT!

TurboTax is easy to use and extremely user friendly. I felt as if I was talking to a tax professional the entire time as it walked me through the various steps.
What's great about it: This is very user friendly and it covered all areas that I can imagine.
What's not so great: Providing a link or prompt to prior year returns would be helpful (if saved on the computer or CD)

Turbo Tax was again very complete and 99% easy to do. A federal error on a stock transaction made no sense at all. I entered everything as is was asked. All my entries but one was accepted. I never did understand what the error was.
What's great about it: Very Complete
What's not so great: Federal error made no sense

MN State

State editing of LTI amount after it was entered incorrectly required lots of extra work such as deleting state and reentering data. Queezy feeling about using Turbo Tax for filing MN State after warning by MN State dept of revenue not to use it.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax imports information - Fed is straight forward
What's not so great: MN State warning not to file using Turbo Tax and complexity of editing of amount for LTI
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Have been using turbo tax for over a decade now for taxes. It has gotten so simple to use that it really is not a chore to file taxes. Thank you for all the frustrations saved!

TurboTax is straight forward and easy to use. I have used it for the last 7 years. The product keeps improving.
What's great about it: EAsy to use and there seemed to be lots of improvements on question asking to really determine what you qualified for.

Good tax tool

I have always paid for Turbo Tax Deluxe and find it offensive to have to constantly having to say no to advertising throughout the program. In the end, it does a good job of covering everything and getting the taxes filed. I have occasionally had to go into the forms manually to fix items that the program either missed or did not handle properly. I also wonder why they offer free tax prep and filing on TV when I have to pay year after year.
What's great about it: Fairly easy to follow flow of program
What's not so great: Too much fluff/detail and too much advertising
