Halfway There

Turbo tax worked great until you have a business. Turbo does not recognize Apple and therefore does not have a package that does returns on a Mac for LLCs.
What's great about it: Good for non-business returns
What's not so great: Business package not available for Apple users.

Turbo Tax is very easy to use and provides tips and advice which helps with specific questions. Receiving upgrades when the program opens and the option to print specific forms is very good.
What's great about it: tips and advice from tax experts

Quirky for Federal, Bugs in the State

Using the guided walk-you-through it software this year was very quirky. For example, when I entered the dependent info for our 12 year old daughter, it said she didn't qualify as a dependent. I thought I must have entered something wrong, so backed up through the screens, but it all looked right. Went through it again 2 times, with the same info, and the third time it correctly qualified her as a dependent. I didn't change anything. Had similar problems with other parts of the return. Finally called telephone support, the customer service rep suggested I use the forms mode instead. It worked MUCH better.
Also had problems with bugs in the MN state return this year.
Very disappointed with the quality of Turbo Tax software this year. I wasted a lot of time due to the quirkiness of the software. I have used Turbo tax for years, and have been satisfied in the past, but I am left wondering if it would have been faster to do my returns manually or with another tax software this year instead of using Turbotax.
What's great about it: Computes everything for you, pretty comprensive
What's not so great: Very quirky this year, also bugs in the MN software

On balance - frustrated

Am frustrated. Paid the fee for state e-filing; and then could not e-file and cannot find a way to cancel the credit card charge.
Annoyed that I cannot e-file just because I do not have the SSN of a fellow who paid me interest on a Note.
What's great about it: Fast & thorough -- better than by hand
What's not so great: Does not allow me to override
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
