Making a Nasty Job Easy.

I found TurboTax very easy to use and feel that it has become apparently even easier over the several years that I have been using it. I like the ability to compare the current year with the previous year. I was especially pleased with how easy the state tax was after completion of the Federal. TurboTax seems to make maximum use of all previously entered information.
What's great about it: I liked the way Turbotax uses information from prior years to limit the amount of information that needs to be typed.
What's not so great: Not always clear as to why some information is needed.

Always a breeze!

This is the forth year in a row that I have used Turbo Tax. It has always been easier than going to a tax preparation business. It asks all of the same questions that they would ask, but I can complete it in my living room, while my kids play. I love it and will continue to use Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: easy, quick, user friendly

What's not so great: Had a problem getting the amount that should have been entered on 1040 Line 59b to match what was entered on 5405

Your product is so easy to use. I don't know why anyone would spend hundreds of dollars to have their taxes done by someone else. I guess they don't have the time.
What's great about it: Carry over of figures from last year.
What's not so great: Nothing

I had a bug and lost all my documents on my old computer. I had backed up 2010 tax documents but had not gotten around to back up 2011 until it was too late. Well it is much easier to have everything transferred from the year before, but I could not do that this time. It would have been nice if turbo tax would have read my tax stuff from 2 years past. I am not sure if I had any carry overs or points from my mortgage or stuff like that. Just a suggestion to program it to read up to two years past.
What's great about it: The software works great, I have used it for many,many years.
What's not so great: That it would not read my tax documents from two years back.

Bad 2012 TT

Used TT Deluxe for several years prior. This years version was TERRIBLE. Forced to download a more expensive version, rather than use on-line. TT never clearly explained how anyone in a civil union could have only purchased one version, not two. Then BOTH copies of TT exhibited the same bug when it added 8-9 blank Dependent pages, prompting the Error screen to have a field day. Then for civil unions, the IL State forms DID NOT even prompt to complete the required Form CU to be filled out on-line. Then the radio buttons all over the program had minds of their own and would change a Yes answer to a No or vice versa. Then the radio button at the end kept changing from my requested Do Not e-file IL form, to e-File IL form. How horrible. I had to go in an delete the entire IL form to be able to e-file my Federal form. We spent over 8 hours with this horribly constructed piece of software. I want my money back and I know I'm not the only long time user to feel this way based on the user comments.
What's great about it: Its over
What's not so great: Significant number of bugs.

It was a complete program but I have never filed my own taxes and there were a lot of questions that Turbo Tax asked and I really had no idea what they were asking. There was no assistance on the items that I had questions on and the on line chat waiting time was 2 hours. If you did not respond immediately to there readiness to chat, you were put back in the queue to wait for another 2 hours. So basically, the online chat was worthless. I am worried about how accurate this program is so I bought the audit protection, and I guess I will just have to wait and see if Iget audited before I decide if this was the right way to do taxes.
What's great about it: helped get maximum return, very thorough

easy way to get a fast refund

been using turbo tax for 10 years and it is unbelieveable how easy they make it to do your own return. Why spent out rages fees fo have a tax place do them when turbo tax makes it so simple. For new people using it, all you need to do is read each page slowly until you become more comfortable with the program and just fill out each form or question with all the tax papers you received. Believe me, it gets easier and easier each year.
What's great about it: each section as income and deduction are very easy to follow
What's not so great: can't think of any
