too much unnecessary stuff

I don't really want to see all this unrelated information, ads and such, pix of tax professional. Just show what is necessary to complete an accurate return.
State tax step-by-step is deficient; asks me all kind of question I have no way of knowing...differences in reporting this or that income between fed and state? how should I know...? I thought that's why I bought turbotax.
What's not so great: too many open questions for state (MA)

Missing Information
on March 16, 2013

I work for a railroad and they withhold railroad retirement. Turbo Tax only included the RRT1 and RRT2, but not the RRTM (Railroad Retirement Medicare) from their drop down window. Other than that it was great.
What's great about it: Step by step leads you through the return
What's not so great: Missed information on w-2

Education scholarships section improved this year. Integration with It's Deductible if very helpful. Should include free state tax e-file
What's great about it: Question format is easy to use.
What's not so great: Should not have to pay to file state electronically.

Well written but no simulation of circumstances

I would have liked to easily simulate the tax difference between married filing jointly and married filing single.
What's great about it: Bug free. Easy to use.
What's not so great: Minimalistic for the price.

2012 Taxes

I was very disappointed in this year's version. Here are a few of the errors TurboTax 2012 made this year. My Charitable Gift Deduction sources were not transferred into this year. I had to re-enter them. My wife's Simple IRA line item did not show up without prompting. I almost missed that savings. Previous contributions to The Roth did not transfer. I will have to re-create the past. My 2011 State Tax refund total was incorrect. I had to override. It would not let me unclick the box for a State 529 contribution. I had to override on the actual form. Unimpressed!
What's great about it: The instructions were easy to follow.
What's not so great: TurboTax 2012 did not transfer key info correctly.

I have used TurboTax for over 10 years and have always found it to be the easiest and cheapest way to do my taxes – This is a grate program and highly recommend it.
What's great about it: TurboTax walks me through it step by step and has easy access to help if I have questions on any of it.
What's not so great: Unfortunately I was unable to file electronically because of some of the forms that I needed to submit, but it walked me
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
