Glad they offer a live help desk

Glad they had a live help desk to answer a very important question..like the difference between us getting nothing or owing 1300!! And the program is easy to use if you wanna get the most for your money.
What's great about it: easy to calculate deductions
What's not so great: took a while to find help button
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

The user interface is easy to use, and the workflow appears to be comprehensive. Disliked time consuming updates.

This is the first year I have done my own taxes. Very nervous to do them, but the easy to follow directions & looking at last year's forms completed by a professional, made this easier to do than expected. I would recommend Turbo Tax

Very confusing how to enter one-time payment for oil and gas lease. 1099-Misc form listed money as "Rent." In filling out TurboTax, the property qualifies as "royalty property" (right to income from oil/gas/minerals) not "rental property" (real estate). Questions under "rent" do not apply (such as days rented), so left them blank. It sends you in an error loop when you checked "royalty property" and listed income in "rent." Finally just ignored error message and sent in return - I figured at least I reported the income and paid taxes on it!
What's great about it: 99% easy to follow instructions and data entry path
What's not so great: no good way to report one-time payment for multi-year oil/gas lease

This is the second year that I've used Turbo Tax. It was even easier that the first time. All my info from last year was there and I just had to update with this year's. I would definitely recommed Turbo Tax if you want a reasonably priced and user friendly option for completing your tax returns.
What's great about it: Very easy to us. Help is just a click away. Love it!
