Nice and simple

We normally don't have extremely complicated tax situations - no self-owned business, no special deductions, and typically aren't selling stocks/bonds/mutual funds. I'm not so crazy about having to purchase a new disk each year - I wish they'd just do a paid download to update the new tax season. That being said, I like using Turbo Tax each year because it is easy and relatively quick. Once you file the return, you receive regular status updates from them - that's a nice feature because I'm one of those people who stare at the wait indicator. :)
I do have one caution - don't bother with the iOS App download yet. I did, and it repeatedly would not let me actually purchase it after I completed my tax return. Turns out, that ended up being a good thing because I went to the store to purchase it and it was almost $20 cheaper. The store bought disk worked like a charm!
What's great about it: easy to use, good status updates once return is filed
What's not so great: iOS app wouldn't allow purchase, you have to purchase a new disk each year

NJ State Tax error

When preparing my NJ State Tax return (we were part year residents) I was asked if I wanted a check or direct deposit of my refund. I completed the direct deposit section and inputed my bank info as required. Upon completion of all forms, I was ready to print and then I received an error notification and partial year residents cannot have a direct deposit. Why ask me that prior when Turbo Tax already knew we were only residents from 1/1/12 thru 8/31/12. I shouldn't even have been given the option.

Gets easier every year!

Using Turbotax seems to improve each year and doing taxes becomes less time-consuming and confusing. Ease of use and options to explore on my own or be guided through various sections is very helpful so I don't miss anything.
What's great about it: allows me to walk through the sections I need and ignore the inapplicable ones
What's not so great: Schedule C: have to go through each item to get to a point to make revisions

Worked Well As Usual

I've been using Turbo Tax for over a decade and it seems to be getting easier and faster to use every year. I didn't run into any issues and I believe this is the best way to do one's taxes. If death and taxes are inevitable then using turbo tax is just as inevitable in my future. Thanks for your continuing dedication to product improvement and your striving for excellence. It has turned the obligation and chore of doing my taxes into a fun activity every year. Thanks again Turbo Tax!

I have always dreaded tax time. I would put it off until the deadline and beyond. When I used an accountant in years past... the worksheets that I had to fill in were like doing my own taxes... Turbo Tax made it so much easier for this "Right-Brained" Fiscal Idiot... Thank You
