Disappointed

I have used Turbo Tax in the past with great success; however, this year was terrible. My wife and I are retired and the tax form kept asking for codes found in various boxes that did not exist on our retirement paper work. After spending more than 10 hours, I gave up and had my taxes prepared by another company.
What's not so great: Extremely hard to use, not user friendly as in the past

Printing issues

I have used Turbo Tax for the past eight years and have no problems until this year, with printing instructions. The information for the Adobe Reader update was not very visible and the screen for printing to mail was not very user friendly.

Almost there

I have been using your product for over 10 years and have found mostly improvements each year This year I noticed it was noticable faster loading and updating than in previous years and the guided instructions were easy and detailed as usual. Hhowever when it came to printing a copy for my records I found that almost impossible I eventually had to just print 2 copies of the filing papers so I would have a copy to keep Why isn't there just a simple print button or a request that will print the return and a copy. Also since I try several versions of my taxes, in the past they were stored neatly in a folder attached to Turbo Tax, in this years version they seem to be embedded in the program itself ? making it hard to delete the copies I don't want to keep. One more item I am an umpaid commissioner in my town I did not see any deductions pertaining to volenteer positions. hope to see these improvements next year.

I have used Turbo Tax in the past and found it to be easy to use and accurate. This years is the easiest and best ever.

Only one downside

When you are filing your state returns and you haven't noticed that the federal return is where you actually claim the estimated taxes you may have paid to the state there is no link in the state back to the federal return. This is the third year in a row that I have cussed at your software because I knew I had paid the estimated taxes but when they didn't show up on the summary in the state return I had difficulty figuring out where to claim them. Wouldn't be that hard for you to put in a question in the state return for this purpose.
What's great about it: Pretty easy
What's not so great: Claiming credit for estimated taxes paid to the state is difficult

t he tax program is excellen. it takes a little while to get familiar wiht the program. t he final quesions on status does not have include retirement.

Bought new computer Dec 2012 and used it during March 2013 to file the 2012 Federal & State returns via Turbo Tax.
Prior years Turbo Tax returns information did not transfer, so I had to input much more new information than I had to when I used the same computer for several year. It was kinda of a bummer, but I made it through the process.
What's great about it: Another good tax preparation product.
What's not so great: TurboTax for MAC did not transfer prior years returns.
