Some trouble!

I have used Turbo tax for years and for the most part really love it. The negatives are typically related to the property tax difficulty in filing.
This year it did not import may last years pin and it also showed problems with dependents. Caused me to enter dependents twice which also cause problems and I had to go back to find how to delete. Pain!

I have using Turbo Tax for several years,it is very easy to use and very completed when you are using the program. The walking thru makes it so easy.

Turbo Tax is the best tool to use for filing your taxes. Why because it makes you feel as SMART as you think you are. It would take me on average 8 days to do my own taxes. Now, Im down to 2-3 days. Im self employed. Not only does it allow you to complete them in a timely fashion, it also helps prepare you for next year taxes. You can get a jump on everything. Its Deductible is one of the greatest additions for keeping track of items you can deduct. Lets face it - we forget this and that throughout the year, and with the simple tools its very easy to keep track of everything. Now we use Its Deductible before we drop of donations, before we send out checks to Charities. So now we dont have to search creation to find that little receipt, that now has become torn, water stained or fayed so badly you cant read it. Turbo Tax makes it easier to locate a particular area of your Taxes you want to find in a hurry. I like that you can view different aspects of your tax return - Forms, Calculations or the Filed Form versions. It offers all sorts of additional help if you desire it. Only problem I had with the 2012 version, I was not able to update the program when I first loaded it. I kept getting error message saying Servers not contacted. Well, I started and completed a return anyway and saved it. Right after saving the return, I tried to update program again. This time - It worked but when I checked to see if any changes were made to my return, all the entered information was gone. I had a saved copy with no information in it. A copy was saved - I checked -even opened it several times before saving. so I know it was not me. Im not sure if the update downloaded a whole new program - and wiped out what I had installed from the cd - as it took a pretty good while to update. At first - I was a bit upset - The "Awww Man" type of upset. but, then I remembered - it use to take me over a week to do my taxes and this time it took me only 2 days. I quickly changed my attitude. LOL Plus, I had to check on some investments DIV forms I didnt get this year. Thanks to Turbo Tax for asking me about them.. otherwise I would have forgot all about them. So, I wasnt upset at all. Turbo Tax compared this year entries to last years entries - at the same time, so I was quickly able to douple check changes from this year to last years. Game Changer right there. Whew.. Great Feature. GREAT FEATURE !! I completed everything in 1 day the next time I did them. And the best feature Is -

When forms have been changed after TurboTax is purchased, please find an easier way to incorporate new forms into return.
What's great about it: TurboTax inspires my confidence in filing. Support staff is outstanding.
What's not so great: Difficulty completing return when forms were not available. Would appreciate a more streamlined procedure.

Suggestions for Future Improvements

The "Indeductible" program needs to be greatly streamlined. It requires way too many key strokes. Also provide a means to alphabetize all entered contributions and enable a printout of such a listing for individual's use during the coming year.
Printing process of the final report does not allow deselection of certain forms (i.e. The Estimated quarterly payment forms, and the general instruction sheets.) This always wastesa lot of paper as these pages always get trashed.
The process for actually printing the tax forms was also questionable. You have to "Preview" the forms to then print. These approach leaves the user who just wants to "print" kind of in question as what to do next.
The Federal and State portions of Turbo Tax use a different user interface. Why?
What's great about it: Provides an integrated platform for tax preparation
What's not so great: Help feature not as useful as provided in past

LOCKED ON TO TURBOTAX

I LIKE THE YEAR TO YEAR FAMILIARITY WITH THE PROGRAM. TOO BAD YOU CHARGE EXTRA FOR A STATE EFILE...WHO DOESN'T NEED TO FILE A STATE RETURN? SOMETIMES I WOULD LIKE EVEN MORE DETAIL ABOUT THE CATEGORY AND WHAT PART OF MY RETURN IT IS BEING APPLIED TO. I'M NO EXPERT BUT TURBOTAX SURE MAKES ME FEEL LIKE ONE. THANKS. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE BETTER THAN EVER 2013 EDITION.
What's great about it: SIMPLE TO USE
What's not so great: $ TO EFILE STATE
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
