Not Good

didn't like deductions for 2012.

What's great about it: convenience at home
What's not so great: turbo tax has flaws, wouldn't like me take deductions, gave me the "standard deductions' got tired and filed.

Great as usual

What's great about it: Takes me through every possible deduction and saves me money. Fast e-file me speedy refund.
What's not so great: None

OK for basics but tricky for complex situations

The basic return was great, but when I tried to apply amortized points from a previous loan, everything fell apart. It also took a while to figure out how to enter info correctly when renting out half the house while treating the other half as a personal residence.
What's great about it: Great guidance for basic steps, good accessibility of extra info
What's not so great: Hard to get right info in right place for complex situations

I am a Federal Government retiree, and as such I get my pay - annuity - tax statement on a from 1099R, not on a W-2. At the time of filing the tax statements, your program kept asking me for the state and zip code for my employer. To get the program moving I entered the data from my 1099R.
Someone needs to fix this program!!
Otherwise, I found the program a great benefit to me in filing my federal and state tax returns for 2012.
What's great about it: Generally speaking, the program was pretty easy to use and great.
What's not so great: The filing routine has problems - see review

Easier Than Ever

My life has been so much easier since my husband and I discovered TurboTax several years ago. Taxtime used to be wartime around our house. This year, it took less time and fewer hard feelings than ever before. The instructions are concise and easy to understand. One problem we did encounter was with the State Return feature. It downloaded fine but then went into a loop and wouldn't start. After 10-15 minutes of searching, we finally found a FAQ that mentioned the problem and solution (rebooting the software - duh!). Aggravating but not life-threatening! For this reason, I give TurboTax 4 stars instead of 5.
What's great about it: Gets easier to understand every year.
What's not so great: Had problems getting State Return feature to work.

Better than anticipated

I have been using Turbo Tax for a great number of years, when I once tried a competitor's program I found it was very confusing.
This year I found Turbo Tax much easier to work with; my only issue was not seeing the continuation line (SHOULD BE HIGHLIGHT) when attempting to continue adding additional revenue information. Otherwise, it was just fine.
I tell my friends proudly that I do my own taxes, so thank you for being there and improving the program.

What's great about it: How fast it was.
What's not so great: I missed seeing continuation line for adding additional revenues in the pension section.

A bit of a disappointment

I have used TurboTax for years and have always been satisfied, but this year something was different. The polish has seemed to be missing in several areas. The State returns have always fallen short of the Federal, but this year they were way short - essentially no help whatsoever. If I hadn't been able to download the Instruction Booklet from the State, I wouldn't have been able to complete the return. Also, once I completed the Step-by- Step pages (for both Federal & State) I was never able to get back to them. I had to resort to completing the returns using the individual forms. Everything turned out all right in the end, but if I had to complete the individual forms I might as well have started with them. Maybe next year I'll buy TT and then just fill out the forms directly.
What's great about it: Familiar format
What's not so great: State experience doesn't come up to Federal experience.
