I have used Turbo Tax for years and have generally been very satisfied. This time I had problems being unable to restart Turbo Tax after an update was applied. I spent several hours trying to solve this problem. I had tried uninstalling and reinstalling without solving the problem. Finally, I uninstalled the 2010 and 2011 versions which were still on my iMac computer in addition to the 2012 version. After reinstalling the 2012 version the problem was corrected.
I also had a problem with entering some charitable donation information. This turned out to be my error and the telephone assistance from TurboTax was excellent.

What's great about it: Very easy to follow instructions.

A needed improvement

I have used TurboTax for years, and keep using it because it is good. It needs an improvement, however.
My wife and I have separate and joint accounts at some financial institutions. Hence, in order to download all our information I have to download from both accounts (separate logins). That results is duplication of information from joint accounts.
Ideally, TurboTax should keep track of the sub-accounts downloaded so that duplicates never occur. But at least, it should compare transactions looking for duplicates. "Did you really sell XXX shares of IBM twice on the same day at the same price?"
Here's hoping this gets to the designers of TurboTax.

As always, Intuit sits at the top of helping the average person file & understand both federal & state taxes. I really like the audit check -- that is a $ saver. Thanks & I'll seee you in 2013

12 years working with Turbo Tax - No TT Errors !

Overall it's a no nonesense program. A little too much request to pick up some other services a long the way to completion by Intuit. We have Quicken, however some of the banks we use are not importable to Turbo Tax. eFiling should not be so expensive to do. Sense the Feds and States benefit from efiling it should be free. We still have to take my CA state to the PO and pay registerd receipts to make sure we are not penalized because of some PO clerk's error of losing it in some corner of the PO. We should get some breaks on the price earlier in the season. It gets us that Intuit drops the price near the deadline. It is unfair that we who buy early and get our 1040.540 completed early pay more.

Need to include Form 8606 information

In the section relating to IRA Deductible and Non-Deductible contributions, you assume that it is a rarity for people to have both types of contributions causing some of us old codgers to skip this important deduction. I do not believe it is a rarity and I overlooked it for 2011 and had to file an amended return. Remember you too will be old someday and prone to overlook "rarities".
Love your product--I have been using it for many years.
