Has, in the past, proven to be reliable. Was assessed additional penalty on DC return last year.
What's great about it: clear, easy to use, smooth download
What's not so great: could not continue to State return in first session; worked next time

I've used Turbotax for about 10 years now; overall a good tax software program; last 2 years I have used the Deluxe version, as the itemized deduction value estimations is very handy, and the federal e-file works pretty well. Some slight tweaking with some of the external partners' data downloads is needed.
What's great about it: Good overall program interface, itemized deduction values very handy
What's not so great: A couple of the partners' data importation did not work correctly

The first Turbo Tax I purchased was defective and did crazy things, and I spent the better part of a day going nuts. If I had submitted that return, the IRS would have put me in jail. I bought another Turbo Tax (the store would not give me a refund) and that worked well. Prior to my recent experience I have never had problems with Turbo Tax and had appreciated it very much.

I've been using Turbo Tax for at least 10 years. I've noticed that doing my returns has become much easier over the years because of customer friendly improvements to the product.
What's great about it: A helpful 'help' menu; thorough coverage of items
What's not so great: I had no troubles that I couldn't find help for

This is the 2nd year we used this program, and we've had great experiences with it both times! We are hooked! We love how step-by-step and yet quick it is!
What's great about it: This software leads the way on what you need to do for your taxes, no matter how (in)experienced you may be!
What's not so great: Nothing!
