RMD questions need better explanation. Quite a few of the explanations still leave you cold. See Cons. Example. Here you go through the whole process, no errors, think you are set to go, and expect to file and out of the blue, W2 question shows up. You can't go on because the software doesn't let you. AND YOU HAVE NO W2s. So what do you do. Hope for the best and put in something to appease the software. This was new. Not even a prompt to figure out if this was an error on your part. Bad and confusing. Did not see it last year. Les Stoessl
What's great about it: most of the questions are pretty self expanatory
What's not so great: some are not. Example. At the end, before e filing suddenly W2s come into the picture. I don't have any. So Huh.

Painless

This is the first time I've used Turbo Tax and I found it to be an excellent product. Very thorough and it walks one right through both the Fed and State returns and chooses the standard or itemized deductions based on the information one provides that is best for the taxpayer. I highly recommend this for speed of completion and accuracy. Doing a return by hand would have been many more hours as with my many past returns...and the refunds should come much sooner now.
What's great about it: Quick and concise
What's not so great: Have to have all of the info handy

for the most part I love the software! I have been using it for years. This year I did run into a problem where the State Sales tax was automatically entered incorrectly. This is the first time I have run into this problem
What's great about it: easy to use and review
What's not so great: did not automatically put correct sales tax amount for state tax

It is rather frustrating that you get to have the state taxes downloaded for free, but to file them costs 19.99 more

turbo tax is super easy been doing it for years now...
I always kind of wonder if they are correct but I know the IRS will let me know if there is a discrepency.
