Same Old Thing

All the basics work as expected and the import from last year's return has always been a nice feature. However, entering donations is slow and tedious and, to top it off, every year the summary description is not what I entered for several charities. I must manually edit the forms before submitting the return. This problem has occurred for several years in a row, so I don't expect it will ever be fixed.
Another problem that I wish they'd fix is easier (and complete!) control of the font size. My old eyes require larger type these days.
What's great about it: Fast enough, easy to follow
What's not so great: Can't get descirption of donations correct (several years running)

Better each year

I dread doing taxes every year because I always feel like I'll forget something. This year I actually took the "interview" route. Even though it took maybe 10 minutes or so longer than just going to what I know to go to, it was much more thorough and left me with a sense of "no stone left unturned". I just love Turbotax, still hate taxes, but Turbotax takes the sting out somewhat!
What's great about it: Quick, easy, thorough
What's not so great: none worth mentioning

It would be ideal to have a way to alphabetize the charities in the federal schedule, as they may be entered in a different order, depending on the method you use, or multiple entries for each. In Illinois, the retirement life insurance question was ambiguous. I don't think that it has to do with box 12, "C" on the W-2, but you should clarify.

2012 Taxes made easy

I found this S/W to be easy to load and use. It walked me through each section and asked good questions that drew out answers that found me more deductions and credits. It did not take very long to go through both the federal and state.
What's great about it: walking me through the sections saved me time, good feature
What's not so great: had three errors, very hard to find where to change the numbers
Pros: I bought or sold investments

i've used it for years and no problem until this year when the state didn't load. had to shut it down and restart but it worked after that.
What's great about it: pretty easy as usual

To get the state to work I nhad to exit and restart which was very confusing and not very user frendly!!! It made me think I needed to pa extra for STATE!! For aproduct I have to pay this much for I expect a lot less grief!!!
What's great about it: does the job
What's not so great: yoy need to work on looding the state!!
