The K-1 process is at best confusing and whenit transfers to the state it is hopelessly confusing. I receieve a Seperate State K-1, formated differentr than the Federal but it is useless and I end up importiang the Federal.
What's great about it: Genrrally very easy to use
What's not so great: State return infomration (help) could be easier to use

Confidence in Turbo Tax

Using Turbo Tax year after year is nice when it takes information from the previous year and transfers it to the next year's tax return. Having the support is good, as is the step-by-step process. When wanting to go back to a specific area, it is difficult to find it without going back through the whole section. There may be a better way but I haven't found it. The confidence in Turbo Tax is the reason we use it year after year.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is fairly easy to use. Its step-by-step process flows well and provides good support along the way.
What's not so great: Somewhat difficult to manuever directly to an area needing review without going through all the steps.

It was not a smooth this year. Kept freezing on my computer. A little more difficult to navigate.
What's great about it: Does the calculations, imports info from last year
What's not so great: clunky and slow this year

The whole filing process is very simple using this tool, except for the almost endless loop when wanting to change my filing status. Knowing that I'm 'head of household' and trying to make that change was impossible. Maybe having a note that, once all of your entries are made, this will be re-visited #which should also be added to the program#, would ease the frustration I felt for that time.
What's great about it: Guided Tour Eased Entry
What's not so great: Change to Filing Status Loop Stinks

Got It Done

Have relied on Turbo Tax Deluxe for the past five years. Every year I learn something new, more about the changes in the tax code than with the program itself.
Will continue to use as the tax code isn't getting simpler, easier or requiring less forms.
What's great about it: Like ability to switch between guided questions & actual forms.
What's not so great: Guided questions don't always track in the order I have my tax documents for entry.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

appears more functions are moved to the premier/home version than prior-year Deluxe version. I guess Intuit needed to make more profit. Might try one of the competitor products next year.
What's great about it: easyguide questions make for a simple user experience
What's not so great: Deluxe version should have more functions
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I had to correct my state tax itemized deduction and had a devil of a time finding it. Never did figure out how the number got there but I did navigate a circuitous rabbit warren of links and forms and worksheets and finally found where the error was entered and corrected it.
State tax form does not print in correct sequence (minnesota).
There seems to be no way to just print the state filing forms. I can only print the entire fed and stated combined. When i look at the forms section, they are not in the format required to file the form, they have all kinds of worksheets imbedded (which are not part of the form but part of the instructions).
Generally, I want to file my state form in paper form and the software makes this just plain difficult (compared to filing the federal form).
As in years past, it is unnerving to have to wait until the final submit click before i have the option to print a copy of the federal forms for review. The software congratulates me 4 times for doing such a good job filling everything out but does not allow me to print out the filing until after i have completed all the e-filing data screens. This is really maddening.
Finally, why do i need a stupid nickname for this stupid form!?!
What's great about it: pretty comprehensive federal with good explain this links
What's not so great: correcting numbers, state form generally
