I have used Turbo Tax for several years now and it has really taken the stress out of filing my taxes. I feel like there is someone who knows what they are doing right there with me while I was filing.

Super Easy

One great thing about Turbo Tax is the way it imports last year's return to pre-populate fields. Makes tax filing much easier. The way it walks you through everything, I felt confident I did not miss a single deduction opportunity.
What's great about it: Walked me through everything. No need to pay a preparer!

Overall a great program that I have found virtually simple to use even with all of the itemizations i have to input
What's great about it: quick and takes you through a logical process
What's not so great: found it difficult to get an answer to a question specific to an error I was experiencing

Just a few sticky moments

Generally I like the ease of use. There were a few moments when a few extra words would have provided guidance and comfort. Like when I was putting in business mileage used with my personal car. My company had compensated me at a lower rate than the standard rate. It wasn't clear how I was going to enter the compensation, until I finished the vehicle mileage deduction and got to the end of a group of deductions, when TT offered to let me put in compensations. Just the words "You will be allowed to enter employer compensation later." would have smoothed the work.
There were a few moments like that when the balance between simplicity and guidance was misbalanced. A bit more guidance in the balance, please!
BUT, overall a fine program.
What's great about it: Leads you through usually very linearly
What's not so great: A few moments when a few words would have helped

So Impressed!

I loved TurboTax! It took a little time to get used to at first, but it's so much better than the online tax places because you have control over whether you want to go step by step or explore on your own. It was really user-friendly and great for someone married-filing jointly for the first time. I am pretty confident in our filing!
What's great about it: Excellent guidance, easy to follow, great for a beginner
What's not so great: Sometimes had trouble finding where to enter obscure forms

Another year with TT!

This is at least the 14th year in a row that we've used TurboTax to file our taxes. It gets a little easier each year, and the software is very thorough. I've never felt like going for a second opinion. I really like the fact that most of the data is imported from the previous year's return. It makes the current year that much more enjoyable (if taxes can be enjoyable) to process. Looking forward to using TT again in 2014!
What's great about it: Transfer of data, Ease of Use, Review & Suggestions
What's not so great: Refund not larger!
