I is fairly easy to do turbo tax, but there are some things that really disappoint me. One thing is, you send out a survey to correct any things with the account. I send in
my response, my name was misspelled and tried to get it
corrected. It didn't get changed, how can you get others things right if you can't even spell my name correctly or change the spelling when I correct it. Another thing is that it is such a pain to sign in to the turbo tax account.

What's great about it: It remembers last years data
What's not so great: it's hared to remember account login for turbo tax.

Always use Turbo Tax & we have a CPA in the family

Turbo Tax is so easy & economical to use. I've used it for years...including when we had a small business! The Deluxe version was even equipped to assist with losses incurred due to storm damage to our home in 2012. All versions (I've used them all over the years; Premium, Home & Small Business, etc.) are designed to maximize deductions & if you happened to purchase the wrong version an upgrade is quick & inexpensive to download!
Every year I email a PDF file of my TT return relative who is a CPA for his trusted family review. He has yet to recommend a change!
Thanks for this product.
What's great about it: Easy to use, guides you to more detail if you need & even directly to IRS publications!

Great Program

I've been using Turbo Tax, and mac inTax before that, for a long time. It is a great program, and makes doing taxes much easier. My only problem this year was after updating the program, it kept taking me to a registration page. I registered once, and that should be enough. I'm not going to reenter all of the required fields.
What's great about it: Ease of use, reliability
What's not so great: Forcing me to re-register

2nd year in a row it has failed to calculate Roth

LOUISIANA STATE TAX RETURN FOR RETIRED MILITARY

TURBO TAX program said it would exclude my Military Retires Pay form my income for the state on Schedule E.
It did not. Program allowed entry on Federal Retirement Pay of amount but then would not accept enry because that amount was taken our of Adjusted Gross Income on the Federal Return amount. When I finished and checked the print copy or the return the Military Retired Pay was not excluded. Therefore, I went back into the return and made an "Other" entry and said it was for my Military Retired Pay USMC Retired 1990. That worked in excluding my Military Retired Pay from my Louisiana State income amount with use of the Schedule E.

Still The Best

I do tax filing for the whole family--different situations and different stages of employment-- still the most comprehensive tax software and love the transfer of previous year info to current tax return.
What's great about it: Deluxe will handle lots of tax situations
What's not so great: Search for specific forms/schedules poor

Program runs smoothly however you delve into a lot of minutia that uselessly uses an enormous amount of paper when you print. Also going into the program to make or research a
problem requires a lot of patience. Not easy. "G"
