This is my fourth year using Turbo Tax after using other tax prep software for fourteen years. Turbo Tax performs some functions related to un-reimbursed partnership expenses that the other software could not do. I have always entered my information from the 1099s rather than download. This year I took the chance and downloaded the information from my brokerage accounts. The downloads worked perfectly and I completed my returns. But, even though the consolidated 1099 was marked "FIGURES ARE FINAL" , a revision was soon issued due to some missing basis information. No matter what I tried I could not delete two transactions that were changed on the revised 1099. I tried deleting the download completely but the two transactions that kept demanding missing information, even though they were not on the list of transactions I could edit. In frustration I deleted the return completely and started over. This time I hand entered everything and finished the return with no problems.
BTW, even though your system tries to get me to install a higher version of Turbo Tax, the basic version works fine even though I have a fairly complex return. I purchase the DELUXE version in order to download the state so I can complete my brother's returns.

What's great about it: Taxes were fairly simple to complete.

Better Each Year

Been using Turbo Tax software for 10+ years. Each year gets easer to use. Forms have become more user friendly each year. Would not change from Turbo Tax.

Having the turbo tax walk me through each topic reminded me of a couple transactions that I forgot about. Ended up increasing my refund which is always a good thing. Like the ability to buy bonds at the end for my kids. Difficult to save for them other wise.

state keeps getting rejected

Be careful with this software. My state refund keeps getting rejected because it puts a 0.00 in dividends and tax refunds on the federal side and only .00 on the state side. Sice both sides do not have the 0 on the left side of the decimal I m going to have to send in a paper return even though I have paid to e-file with turbo tax.
For as much money and the number of people that use this software you would think that they would have errors like this fixed before before March.
