I found that turbo tax makes it easier to do my taxes every year. I have used turbo tax for the past 3 years and have not had any complaints. I just wish that they had a way that you could chat with someone on line when you have a question that is not on the list of questions that they have listed.
What's great about it: Made doing my taxes easier
What's not so great: Alittle confusing about entering info on pensions, annuities, or retirementI

Very solid

TurboTax is always solid. The step by step works well. When one gets the hand of it one can move between step by step, going to particular steps directly, and going to the forms themselves. In the latter case it is not always obvious how to type something directly into the form as opposed to going back out to the guide and filling it in there. This could be my ignorance. The "QuickZoom" is usually very good - in a couple of cases I had to find the supporting form myself. My return is moderately complex and I did fine.
What's great about it: Reasonably easy to use
What's not so great: A little difficulty with editing forms directly

Middle class folks dont have lots of deductions but TT makes it all very easy...

Using Turbo Tax

It literally took several hours to download to my computer. I did learn that I have to READ VERY CAREFULLY! At one time it said we made over a million dollars! It actually took me a whole day to do the taxes and again the next day. The results were good after fixing my mistakes and the efiling was excellent.
What's great about it: I got a refund!
What's not so great: Took hours to download to my computer!

Turbotax state

The reason we have been using Turbo Tax to keep our costs down. Other years you did not charge us for the State Tax. It came with the program. I am disappointed that we have to pay for the state tax because we now have paid twice. We could have just had our taxes done for the cost we paid. I am not sure that we will use the program next year.

Found this year was better to use than 2011. Somehow my est. state taxes did not register and had to go back to redo. Instructions to do so were good.

Small price to pay for the ease and peace of mind that it gave me. I have used and will use again.
What's great about it: Able to download info from last year. Easy to understand. Made pretty quick work of my taxes this year.
What's not so great: Federal tax code is complicated forcing the average person to use tax software
