For the most part I was very satisfied.

Most everything went very well, however trying to do State kept circling over and over and would not actually let me get through the state section.
What's great about it: The GPS functions were great
What's not so great: The program kept circling sections

After years of manually filling out the tax forms, I tried Turbo Tax for 2010's returns and was soon questioning myself why I had waited so long. Quick, easy and accurate. 2012's Federal return took a few hours, the State return only 30 minutes. With all the pertinent documentation, W2, 1099, 1098 etc, imported to Turbo Tax, it is almost impossible to make mistakes or miss applicable deductions. Highly recommended for most people.
What's great about it: Everything you need to quickly and accurately file your taxes.
What's not so great: None, other than a glitch loading the state return.

No need to use anything else

Before using turbo tax I used an independent CPA. A co-worker recommended using Turbo Tax and once I switched to it the cost halved, and the time to complete my taxes myself increased minimally. I have not tried any other tax preparation software, nor do I plan to, Turbo Tax is it for me.
What's great about it: Easy to use and complete
What's not so great: Slow to start up

TurboTax has been a superb product for me for the past several years. For 2012 taxes, this was the first time I had an issue. When trying to pay Federal tax with C/C, the program would unexpectedly quit on my MacBook. No worries, chatted online & on phone with support folks & they could not have been any nicer. The issue was fixed with an update the following week. Waiting online or on phone was 30 - 40 minutes, but that is to be expected this time of year! No worries! Thanks again TT - a great product! Jim
What's great about it: Explanations, directions & data entry are all superbly simple
What's not so great: One glitch on payment with credit card page - fixed with subsequent update!

your product is lousy compared with previous years. I couldn't file a state return with out restarting my computer. Thank goodness I had Chance to help me figure it out. But now I can't print a copy for filing by mail although I have followed all the instructions. Too bad for you but I will not ever purchase a copy of turbotax again. My time is much to valuable than to waste it on lousy products. I am so glad I didn't choose to efile. Who knows waht would happen

attempted to download state forms, was charged for it, but it did not download. Had to go to phone assistance and wade through a lengthy series of steps to get what I had already paid for.
What's great about it: got help after wait

E-File Status

As Always, TurboTax continues to be the Clear Frontrunner in Tax Preparation arena.
This year After E-Filing my returns, I was able to print a E-File ELECTRONIC POSTMARK - CERTIFICATION OF ELECTRONIC FILING for Federal, but not for my Maryland State Return.
I hope this is resolved in the future.
