One suggestion would be to have a checklist of all required documents up front so you don't have to stop in the middle of a section to go find something.
What's great about it: Step by Step Process
What's not so great: Some instances in the "learn more" links could use more detailed explanation.

Updates were horrible

I have a brand new computer running windows 8. Not sure if this made the difference or not, however TurboTax gave me a lot of problems each time I tried to update. I finally had to go on the website and manually download the updates. Only then did the program let me transmit my returns. This is the six year I used the program and this was the first year I was very disappointed.
What's great about it: Easy to use once it started
What's not so great: Takes forever for the program to launch.

Excellent. You listened to my comments from last year and made the necessary corrections. thank you.
What's great about it: Better than last year. Simple and direct!

Turbo Tax basily did a good job.
Problem - the 1099 for T. Rowe Price failed when transmitted. I was told to delete the 1099 - and re-enter. That did work. At that time Turbo Tax also flagged that T. Rowe Price needed an "Street address" - other then the P.O. box what was given in their 1099.
(I understand T. Rowe Price not givening a street address is not TurboTax's problem, but you might bring it to T. Rowe's attention. I was hung up for three days on this address problem - before getting it to transmit.
What's great about it: Updated files from last year
What's not so great: 1099 - T. Rowe Prices 1099 keep failing when transmitted.

What a Relief

It was amazingly easy since this is the fifth year I have used it (and not the last) and am now familiar with how it "operates"; where things will go; etc. The feature wherein you transfer basic data from the previous year to the new year's return is great but the thing I could not live without is the ability to pull in electronically all the investment/broker data with a key stroke. That alone makes it worth every penny.
What's great about it: ensured that I considered everything
What's not so great: Not many. Could maybe be made easier to navagate for the novice.

We had interest, dividends, inheritance from a Trust, sale of stocks etc. Most of our taxes were withheld in the month of January. All this was covered by Turbo Tax Deluxe.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax covered all the items we had
What's not so great: None
Pros: I bought or sold investments

The Usual Good Experience with Turbo Tax
on March 7, 2013

I am a many year user of TT. The year-to-year consistency of the product is excellent. I know what to expect, with no suprising changes. The ability to use both the interview, and the forms approaches is improtant to me. Keep up the good work.
What's great about it: Consistency of TT - approach and results
What's not so great: A "will not do state return" up front would be nice.

Turbo Tax save multiple returns for no explicable reason. I worked on my return and it saved it. When i continued and saved it created a new file. When I completed my return and save the file, re-opened it to be sure it saved properly, it apparently did not. I opened the complete file from Mar 4th but on the 7th it was no where to be found.
Turbo Tax owes me $108 for my hourly fee of re-entering a tax return because the software did not work properly.
What's great about it: Covers the details, updates and has all forms, easy to use
What's not so great: 2012 apparently had bugs in the software
