Taxes made easy

Tax season was scary until I bought TurboTax for the first time in 2010. All the questions asked were always simple to answer. I needed my check and savings account records, W2 forms and copies of various paid invoices and that was it. Keeping a file each year for all of your receipts is HIGHLY recommended. It makes my experience beyond convenient, efficient and understandable even for bo-bo's like me.
What's great about it: TurboTax removes the fear factor
What's not so great: Hard to find out what happens if legal problems are involved with income or property taxes
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

Happy Days

TurboTax is very easy to use. I especially like that it will download the previous tax information. With TurboTax I know that all my math is correct. I also like that I can file electronically.
What's great about it: I greatly appreciate the ease in using TurboTax.
What's not so great: No cons to report.

Easy to use if prior used

Went well but I was unable to comunicate with an Turbo Tax employee about unusual issues that came up in our affairs this year. Fortunatly, our deductions fell below the standard deduction so there will not be a problem this year.
What's great about it: Math is handled by the software
What's not so great: Unable to locate a way to ask questions of live Turbo Tax employee

This year was not as easy as in the past. There was a few items I missed putting in and I found it was more difficult to go back and make changes. My problem related to the standard or itemized deductions.

Best way to do taxes!

Using TurboTax is much better than going to a service. You can interrupt your work at any time, to look up documents you may have forgotten about, or just to take a break. You come back minutes or days later and pick up where you left off. The instructions are user-friendly, with many helpful suggestions and warnings. The year-to-year carryover of your personal information, brokerage account addresses, charitable contributions, etc. saves a lot amount of time.
What's great about it: Easy, comprehensive
