I've been using TurboTax for at least 15 years and have never been disappointed.
It's easy-to-use Step-by-Step interview technique walks the filer through the entire process. It's Form option allows the filer to make minor adjustments if needed, but once again, I didn't need to make any.
What's great about it: Another Fine Job by TurboTax
What's not so great: A little slow to start up
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

when someone is filing the standard deduction, there should be more warnings re: submitting deductions from charity in regards to the amount you'd need to make a difference. For instance, you give the amount someone needs to outspend for medical bills in order to get a deduction. This would help tremendously because it takes a long time to research all the donations (i.e. clothing, etc.), and if it's insurmountable, we just wouldn't attempt to collect that information.
What's great about it: Fairly easy to navigate
What's not so great: Should have warned us to "save" as we went along

Cons:
1. You are charging extra now for the State Software, whereas it used to be included in the Deluxe version.
2. Suggestion for an improvement: Where the user needs to submit an alternate 1099-R on Fed Form 4852, it would be helpful to put the check box at the beginning of the input process, to avoid the trepidation of wondering if there will be another chance before entering the incorrect info from a broker's form, and searching around for what to do.

What's great about it: Easy to use, very thorough, loved the ability to download from brokers, etc.

Too bad the "Life Changes" section of this review is all wrong. None of what you see there is true but I can't edit it because I can't see any of that section on my screen. Everything else shows fine but not that. I can only hope that that is the only instance in the program.
I've used T-Tax for many years and always been happy with it. I hope they continue to shine.

Easy and Quick!

I really like the ease at which TurboTax made my filing easy. I own a farm and even with this, it was no problem to fill out my taxes.
What's great about it: Easy to Understand! I am not an accountant--Turbo Tax made it easy for me!

The TurboTax process makes it easy to navigate through the various federal and state tax forms that are so complicated. And if you are not sure if a question pertains to your situation there is always a help link available with valuable information. Makes calculating taxes so easy.

Easy to use

I first purchased TurboTax because I have bad handwriting and hated filling out tax forms manually. But I have learned to appreciate the ease of TruboTax Deluxe. It asks all the questions. It does all the calculations, including floors and ceilings for things like deductions.
And it retrieves all of you info from the previous year. Makes it much easier than re-entering everything.
What's great about it: All calculations are done for me
What's not so great: None really
